Could be a kidney problem or a urinary tract infection. Best go to the vet and get a check done, as this isn't something you can diagnose or treat at home. A kidney problem can quickly progress, and shouldn't be ignored.

It could be caused by many things. Take her to the vets and try and get a urine sample just before she goes so that the vet can test it. We have a ***** we took on with this problem and it turned out that she had bladder stones, she now has a prescribed diet to break them down.

Either she's marking (territory) and is simply out of "wee" as you say, or she's having the urge to "wee" and nothing comes out, which would indicate a medical issue. Is she behaving normally? Showing signs of discomfort? Yes, females can and do mark...so don't discount this. Has she been spayed?

You don't have to get her spayed. If she is inside she does that because she wants outside. We had 4 dogs inside and one of them, being a Siberian Husky, would do the same exact thing just because she wanted outside. She wouldn't pee or anything just squat and act like it. Nothing to worry about it...once their bladders get bigger and they get out of the puppy stage where they want outside all the time they'll be fine. If it's an outside dog she is spreading her scent. Our older siberian huskies do the same thing. Don't be alarmed and there is no reason to get her spayed unless that is something you want to do.

She could be just marking as well. She is probably either going through puberty or about to. Again, call your vet about it and keep an eye on her for excessive water consumption or no water consumption.

As others have said, she could have a urinary infection or she could be due in season & leaving her scent for male dogs - just to let them know!

it could be cystitis - get a urine sample (not as difficult as it sounds) and take her and the sample to your vet as she needs anti-biotics.
