i have been asked yesterday bout my sharpei 5 mos old, he dont like dog food so i tried to give him rice and beef, sometimes chicken and fish and tuna and he loves it i did give fruits and veges as a treat.. before i administered it to my dog i research it and it says that dog food is made out of no good meat products that are not aproved by health department for human consumption so what they do instead of throwing out the no good products they invented the dog food, so how come me feeding my dog a human food is dangerous? if the dogfood itself is made out of garbage ingredients.. b4 dog/animal eats no commercially prepared food its all out of raw food that they can find outside so why now its so wrong to feed a dog a human food?..

Me and my chihuahua Roxy take pet training classes at petsmart...there is a woman there who has a black pomeranian and she paints her dogs nails. I asked her if she used special polish and she said "no just the same nail polish I use" wouldnt human nail polish contain chemicals harmful for dogs. I dont wanna paint Roxys nails.....I am just wondering!

PHONEBOOKS anymore???
They GIVE them away here...bring em right to your door & you don't even have to ASK!!!

**WHY** do folks keep asking questions like "Which vet in where-ever does cropping?"???

Well,geeeeeeeeeeze....how is some complete stranger in "BFE" supposed to know & *WHY* would you take their advise anyway??

Grab the phonebook, open it to "V" in the yellowpages & CALL THE VETS LISTED & ASK *THEM*!!

Have a piece of paper & pencil handy,WRITE down their prices so you can COMPARISON SHOP & don't forget to say THANK YOU!

Same for airfreight info.(800 numbers are FREE!) & grooming & all the myriad other "Where & WHO" questions.

ASK the PROS!! NOT *here*!

Just got back from Vet Hospital and diagnosis was Gastritis (is a general term used to describe inflammation of the lining of the stomach.). whoppinhg 450 for this too, but was well worth it. Nothing wrong with Pancreas. My reg vet told me she had pancreas problems, this doc this morning said she did not. Who can u believe? I pay monthly for wellness plan and end up at Vet hospital. I am forwarding this bill to Banfield. If I could have gone to regular vet it would have not cost me anything. OH well she is fine. Prescription is antibiotics for 10 days. Thanks for all your support.

My dogs is two and impressively house trained, he lets himself out or knocks if the door is locked and simply doesn't have accedents.

a week ago i moved the bin in the kitchen and it was wet, i asumed it leaked, changed the liner and cleaned up. this happen two more times.
but today when it happened i smelt that it was the dogs pee and not just bin smell. while cleaning this time i saw that he had now urinated i the middle of the room, so he was sent out side while it was cleaned.
then when he was let back in he went to sniff what he had urinated on then went and did it on my laptop bag and a shoping bag with paper in it.

He is not sick.
Has lived here since he was 8 weeks.
We don't have any other animals
rarely have visitors
and have not changed our routine in months.

Okay, he is a 3 month old min pin.

The night after we got him, my husband and I took him on a two mile walk and before we even got to the one mile mark he was whining and crying. I would pick him and carry him for five minutes or so and put him down and he would be crying within five minutes. After half way he did that the whole way home.

I'm asking a serious question, not trying to be silly. I know his legs are still tiny and he is young.. is two miles to far to take him? Or did he just get bored or what? I know he wanted to be carried, so I'm pretty sure he was just tired, which makes complete sense!

If we do need to cut our walks short when he is with us that is fine. When will we know when he is okay to take long walks? Just try it out and see how far he is making it comfortably?

Hi, I have a 4 month old puppy, who I plan to have spayed. When should I expect her to go into heat? I mean, what is the usual age?
Also, when should I have her spayed? Before or after she goes into heat? (I don't have any males around that are loose to worry about.) I know of one chi pup who had calmed down bigtime once she "became a woman," so I'm wondering if I should let mine go through her first heat before I get her fixed. Is this calm down usual in females, or is this wishful thinking with mine?

Thanks for your answers!

I just bougth my golden retriever (2 month old) to my home, but she seems scared and sad. I dont know if it is because she misses her family. There are times when she is happy playing with my kids, but when stop paying attention to her she goes to a corner to lay down. I thought they were active dogs with full of energy? especially when they a puppies. how long does it take for a pup to get used to there new home? And will she be more active when she feels more confortable? Is it something I should be worried about?

has spread (without spending a lot of money) my son's unsure that he wants to do the surgery, WHICH IS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY. The tumor is the size of a small marble. It is on the underside of his chest just underneath the skin. He loves his dog. He doesn't want to subject it to surgery as there is an unknown factor there. If the cancer has spread he'll have him euthanized. He knows that if it hasn't spread, that this will save his life. What do you think about a wait-and-see approach?

I only feed natural foods to my dog. Nothing from any rendering plants!
Just wondering what you people think. Have a nice day!
