This is the second time she has acted this way. What she does is just stay under my feet and wont leave my side. It started this morning. She always sleeps with me and when I woke up she was on the floor (jumped off bed). She will not eat, which sometimes is normal, but she does not have appetite. Last time this happened, I took her to vet and they gave her something for tummy and also told me, after taking her blood that her pancreas were high. I would not think the pancreas would make her act weird. She is also shivering inside down in the rear part of her. If anyone would let me know if they have experienced this please let me know.

It seems my dog can't get enough of beer. Found this some time ago, when I saw him slurping up some spilled on the floor. He seems to love the stuff ever since. Sits on the floor, and begs whenever I have one. It has reached such a stage I need to go to another room when I want to have a beer. I have entertained him at times, and have given him small quantities at times. But I want to know whether it is okay to give him beer. He seems to sleep it off without any visible ill effects.

Hi,
My dog's name is Rico, he is an 11-month Golden Retriever. He is energetic and I believe I am a bit late for neutering.. but it's never too late! Anyways, I saw him humping our neighbor's 7-month male puppy! Which really freaked me out!

I was thinking of neutering him next week .. Do you think it's a waste to neuter him? Or do you think I should neuter him asap? I'm afraid he might get anesthesia (excessive blood) from the surgery. Is there a possibility he dies in surgery? Can you please tell me what I should do?

Has had a CT, spinal tap, been given Phenobarbital, Potassium Bromide, Valium, Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, change diet to all natural, etc. Is now off the meds completely and only on herbs. Was sez. free for 33 days & then last episode was horrible. 1 sez. every 8 hrs lasting 1-2 min. Took 4 days to get back to almost normal. Now he is 90% him self, happy, tail wagging, wanting to play, etc. But this could happen again & again. Don't want him to suffer & the sez. are grand mal (horrid to watch). Please tell me I would be doing the right thing if I do put him to sleep. Very sad, depressed, and want to know it is ok.

I got a 10-month Wiener Dog from the Humane Society & know nothing of her past. When I scold her, she pees on the floor. If she's not listening to me, and I gently tug on her collar to get her attention, she pees too. My home and is beginning to smell like dog pee. How do I break this problem? Please help me! I'm ready to return her to the Humane Society.

She will make very odd sounds like a person imitating the wrong answer buzzer on a game show, or give the dog one kibble at a time with the pack on. It's embarrassing, what should I say?

Me and my husband live in a small one bedroom apartment, we have two dogs, one a lab and one a mix between a lab, rott and german shepherd. We are extremely attached to our dogs, but know that we cant keep them both and have a baby. I dont know of any one that I can give my dogs to that I would trust and dont want to give them to a pound, because I dont want them to be seperated. We are eventually going to move into a two bedroom apartment. But I am still not sure that this will be big enough to have both. Do you think that it would be okay to keep both of the dogs with the baby or what?

i dis-like choke chains.( except for training purposes only then i approve) I work for an animal rescue program...and i have seen many many cases where the owner puts a choke chain on their dogs neck, and the dog ended up with an embeded chain or even worse....a broken neck and the dog is dead. I was working on a case and I went to the location where I would find a pregnant pitbull badly beaten and emaceated with a choke chain around her neck and tied to a tree with NO room to run, walk etc.. she only had room to sit and lay down, I got a good look at Pregnant Mama...and the chain was deeply embeded into her neck and nevertheless....her neck eventually broke from her tryin to get up and run...poor thing snapped her own neck. :( and the owners did not care one bit. lets just say I fixed thier "tails", they are having lots of time to sit and think about what they did in jail. :)

if choke chains are so wrong why are they used in dog shows? and them ppl watch these shows they see how the chain goes on and how it used...but yet they can't bring them selves to put it on thier dog even though it walks them down the street. chains are a ver useful tool when working with untrained shelter dogs, that thier owner couldn't handle. i know around here thats why alot of dogs end up in shelters is because they have no basic training..they can't come, sit, stay, ect and leash training..HA i can only think of a very few dogs that i have walked that didn't try to drag ya. normal things any good owner is going to teach.
And just about every other question on here is about training in someway or another.

so i just wonder what ur thought on choke chains good or bad, why , and do u know how to use one?
