Its generally considered, that dogs are much stronger than cats. People usually think of dogs hating cats and chasing them. On Tom & Jerry, Tom chases the mouse until the mouse is accompanied by a dog. It's like people think dogs are stronger that cats for the most part. They usually have dogs bigger and stronger than cats. But don't they realize, that the strongest cat could rip the strongest dog to shreds. Those big canines that accompany the police are no match to a lion or a tiger. I don't think there's any dog that could take out a lion or a tiger one on one. So, I'm just wondering why people like to always make it look like dogs are stronger than cats in general?

If I ever have a dog I will treat it as my most beloved friend and I won't put a leash around its neck when I walk the dog... so... dog *lovers*, how can you on earth say you love your dog while pulling them with a chain like slaves? This isn't love is it? Like you never pull your kids out for a walk with a chain? Don't tell me the safety bs... if you really love your dog, you shouldn't keep it prisoner for 15 years (i.e. life sentence). Set it free will you? I feel so bad when I see the way dogs are locked up in the prison cell like tanks (worse than a prison cell actually) in pet shops. Miserable creatures.

I have a 5 and a half week old puppy, a 3 year old dog and a year old cat. The older dog and the cat get along OK but the cat wants to "play" with the puppy by attacking her. He grabs her and kicks with his back claws. We had his front claws taken out (He is strictly an indoor cat, I am allergic to his claws), but the vet refused to remove the back claws. I have been scolding the cat for playing with the puppy this way and the puppy even does her little growl at him. Does any one have any suggestions?

I have a mini schnauzer. He is 3 months old and doing wonderful on his potty training. I am concerned though. If I don't neuter him will he start hiking on everything? Can a non-neutered male dog be potty trained?

I have a 10 month old black lab puppy that needs a good. I have a newborn baby that's allergic to him so I can't keep him. He's a really good dog and he is house broken. He deserves a good home. He loves kids. I live in Springfield, Mo. Am willing to drive to some parts of Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma.

I just got a new puppy and I can't think of a name for him! He's a ball of energy and is a mix between a bichon and a poodle. He's caramel colored all over and has curly hair. I've been trying to think of a cute, unique name that sounds a little tougher than he is :) Any ideas would be great! Thanks!!

I have a 1 1/2 yr old female black lab. I adopted her from a lady who bought her from a kennel. She was told that the dog was pure bred and that the parents had papers bought that the mothers papers had expired so the puppies did not have there papers. Is there a blood test that can be done to determain wether she is full blooded? And if so if I have this done can I register her? Please help. Thank you.

PS yes I will love her just as much if she is not pure bred

She had never had a seizure before and these were bad, just kind of fell over, loss of bladder control, eyes rolled back ,bit her tongue badly. Took her to the Vet where extensive tests were done concluding that she had Thyroid problems and an irregular heartbeat. Cleaning out my pantry I found 2 cans of the Beef vegies in Gravy, this is typically what she eats along with dry. Could tainted dog food caused these seizures? I ran up $1K in tests over the following week trying to get an answer. Is there a test my Vet can perform to determine if it was the dog food and what recourse do I have against Iams if in fact it was the food?

So.... I was out almost all day Sunday with friends & when I came home there was a new addition to my family! My husband had been talking about this for a few months, but I didn't realize how serious he was until I saw the cute little puppy napping in the carrier on the kitchen floor!
Surprise!!!!
I didn't know what to think, but I fell instantly in love!
Now I told him before, when he was talking about getting a dog, that it would be his & my son's responsibility... & he agreed "Oh, yes.. you won't have to worry about it!" But guess who is home most of the day.... that's right---Me! I know nothing about potty training a dog, etc. & there have already been a few accidents. The place he bought the puppy from did, however, provide us with some handouts & info.
Right now the puppy is confined to the kitchen until he is house-broken. We have paper on the floor, & he has all the essentials. I take him outside about every 2 hours to try to get him to 'go'.
(to be continued....)
