to stop biting my ankles and barking at me im also having trouble with house potty training her one day she doing good the next its like she forgot , There are times when she is sniff the floor like she is hungry and i've just feed her, she eating on my house plants digging holes in the back yard I signed her up for puppy classes but the dont start until April 11, Is there any help i can receive before then Thanks lost mommy

I found a beagle stranded on the side of the road about 2 months ago. I picked her up took her home and now shes my pet. I put up signs and took her to the vet and the vet said she may be pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how you can be positive is she is or not?

I'm planning to buy a shitzu puppy,I'd like to know about his behavior toward kids because I have a 4 y/o son,also we live in a tropical country and its kind of hot,how do I take care of him,his feeding behavior and if it is easy to train him (I don't like dogs peeing or pooping inside the house),also about grooming and the like,more info will also help.Thanks in advance!

I want to make some sort of a pack, and I dont know what to put in it. what should I bring? He is very hyper, hes only a year and 1/2 .
Im bringing a leash& collar, also his choke chain bc of the other dogs, it will be easier for me to handle him. But what else should I bring? I know water and treats, but what else?

is it true that when potty training puppies, you have to ignore the fact they made a mistake and pooped/peed somewhere else because it may be a cry for attention?

My mom says thats wrong and when they make an "accident" you have to rub their nose in it which I don't want to do to a poor little dog.

I am just wondering cause I am getting a dog end of may (8 week blonde cockapoo!) so excited!

please share other potty training ideas.

My dog is a very sweet dog. She never comes around much when we have company and she never bothers anyone. We had no idea that she was so brutal to other dogs. She attacked our neigbors dog, which happens to be our relatives and killed it in a very brutal way. She has never hurt any human, but now I am very worried about her being near my son who is 1. Should I just give her away?

Im not sure whats going on, but I have a chihuaha and she is about 9yrs old...well the past 2 days when I go outside to play with her in the yard, she'll be running around and then just face plant into the ground motionless, staring off into space...then after a minute she'll try to come to and get up and shes really shaky and wobbling around so I have to carry her inside...Im pretty worried, she sounds like shes having a hard time breathing too lately...so maybe she has a cold and isnt getting enough air then maybe getting lightheaded running around???

could it be possible she is ill from eating a bone with marrow in it..I buy them as soup bones and she had one today...she vomited this evening..right now she is sleeping,,if she isnt better tomorrow morning off to the vet we go..but what is your opinion could the bone make her ill?

Sorry, I forgot to mention my puppy has been receiving medical care, the conservatitive way. I've been taking her in 2x a day for fluids, injections etc. then bringing her home. She is over her kennel cough now and the vet gave me injections to administer to her since today is Sunday and they are closed. Tomorrow I take her back for them to check her and get the last doses. Her eyes are a bit brighter today and she is a little more steady on her feet. Please don't think I am cruel by not hospitalizing her. I could not afford what they wanted and I had just adopted her a few days before so no real emotional attachment. I am doing the very best I can for her and even turned down temp work to stay home to care for this puppy.

i have been feeding both my cat and dog iams dry food and they love it but ever since this scare with the canned food i dont trust to given them the dry food anymore because the next ya know it will be the dry food thats poisoned to hey ya never know with this kind of stuff so i will not feed them iams but i need some suggestions on what else would be good thanks morgana

hello. I am getting a new cockapoo puppy soon. I heard they are a very smart breed. It will be 8 weeks when I acquire it, how many weeks until I start to obedience and potty train it? how long should I take it out for a walk when it starts walking? if you have any other useful info, please let me know!

I've asked about my puppy b4 who has parvo & now I have a few more questions. 1st, since the pup was from the shelter & vaccinated w/i her 1st parvo booster, would that throw a false positive? 2nd, she never once has had blood in her stools nor have they smelled foul as I've been told. Could it be the vet mis-diagnosed her? She's been terribly sick for a week now and is done to near skin and bones. Today is the 1st day where she hasn't been constantly throwing up and has vomitted only 1x. I am getting puppy formula to stay done better today and she does appear to be a bit better. If the vaccine threw off the test results what else could she have caught? She did catch kennel cough at the same time as the parvo and the poor baby has really had a rough go of things. Can anyone help here? Thank you!

Okay, Well I found this really cute puppy (which is a maltese) and it was homeless and $0.00 dollars (i even checked in with the shelter people on e-mail) and i thought it was really cute and i felt bad for it. My mom said she really wanted a puppy, but my dad had another thought. He is allergic to puppys but malteses have hair not fur, so he wont be allergic to it. I told him that and he never said anything. He sometimes gets mad and sais 'Oh im the bad guy and your mom is so nice' but he sais it in a sarcastic way. He sometimes is really nice, and other times he is just normal. I want to tell him about this puppy, is it worth it?

Right now I'm giving him a daily dosage of Nutri-Cal, it's not really working, I can't change his food because he's allergic to almost everything, I even have to give him Hypo-allergenic food in stainless steel plates. What should I do... I want him to be healthy.

My dog had very matted fur days ago, when I removed his collar after he was itching it. Behind, there was a sore a bit larger than a quarter, although it did not look very bad. Today, I took him to get him groomed, and a very rude groomer told me that I was stupid to not treat his sore. I then noticed the sore was much worse than it seemed, it was a sort of crimson red, and larger than I had thought. Other than taking him to the vet, how could I treat it? (I want to wait three days before I take him to the vet.)

I used the deshedder comb and alot of hair has come out. But I believe he has dry scalp. Because as I was combing his hair I seened dandruff.

I"ve been cooking for my dog ever since the food recall. I make white rice, chopped meat with peas and carrots. Then I switched to pasta cause the vet told me it was less binding. Can someone shed some light on why she hasnt had a bowel movement. She is very healthy and does normal active and has a very hearty appetite she always eats all her food and begs for treats thoughout the day. Where is the food going?
