I've asked about my puppy b4 who has parvo & now I have a few more questions. 1st, since the pup was from the shelter & vaccinated w/i her 1st parvo booster, would that throw a false positive? 2nd, she never once has had blood in her stools nor have they smelled foul as I've been told. Could it be the vet mis-diagnosed her? She's been terribly sick for a week now and is done to near skin and bones. Today is the 1st day where she hasn't been constantly throwing up and has vomitted only 1x. I am getting puppy formula to stay done better today and she does appear to be a bit better. If the vaccine threw off the test results what else could she have caught? She did catch kennel cough at the same time as the parvo and the poor baby has really had a rough go of things. Can anyone help here? Thank you!

The reason why I've asked about a false positive is years back a cat I had tested positive for FIP. I had moved and the new vet called my old vet and he said he had vaccinated him for FIP. The vaccine was giving a false positive and Kittybob came home with nothing more than a real bad bowl movements.

im sorry to tell you if your dog had parvo symptoms and they also diagnosed her with kennel cough. its not parvo you need to worry about OR kennel cough. DISTEMPER. thats why mine passed away almost a week ago. she was diagnosed with parvo and the kennel cough was kind of ignored. turned out my angel had distemper. ck her fever and if she has a fever dont feed her!! give her ckn broth and veg broth only! even if its for a few days! give her vitamin c!! email me for some more details!! i treated my puppy at home for parvo and it was a piece of cake. distemper is a little tricker and if people would not run out and kill their dogs the moment they hear distemper-the survival rate would be a lot higher- im convinced of it!!! PLEASE email me and i can help you with some resources/things to give her!! home care will give you the most hope!!!

Parvo is diagnosed with a test. A vaccine wouldn't have caused the test to come up positive. The dog could have caught parvo if the second vaccination was never give or given late. It is very hard to misdiagnose parvo because it has so many red flag symptoms. However, I am amazed that the animal isn't hospitalized because from my experience parvo is highly contagious and the animal is always hospitalized and is quarantined from all other animals. Make sure you get this taken care of because it is a deadly disease.

My daughter is a vet tech, she says that yes it is possible to get a false positive if the dog just had a parvo shot. Kennel cough causes coughing, not really the vomitting. She thinks you should take the pup back to the vet. Good luck, I know it's hard to see your pet suffer!

The vaccine is to dodge parvo it does not scientific care parvo, in basic terms a sequence of fluids will help a canine recover from parvo, intravenous fluids, i'm sorry yet there is not any prescription or magic pill you may provide a domestic dog to rid them of parvo, in the journey that your canine has parvo in basic terms a vets care will optimistically keep him, maximum die a painful loss of life if not taken care of. As for intestinal worms you like a prescription from the vet, OTC wormers do not paintings. in case you may not have the money for to top look after your domestic dog please sign him over to the vets and enable them to discover him a house which could have the money for appropriate scientific care. i'm sorry inspite of the undeniable fact that it rather is unlawful to not grant a ill canine with scientific care.

if your dog had parvo and a week has passed and is still alive,i would say she should have died by now, once a dog gets parvo they die very quickly, your vet has misdiagnoised your dog, keep giving her puppy formula, try some clear gatorade it will help her rehydrate, lots of luck to you,oh ! iwould be calling the vet if i were you, your dog did not have signs of parvo i have had a few that had it but died, but they got it when they were puppys,if they get both parvo shots after 6 weeks old they wont get the straind they were given shots for,if a dog 1 yr or older gets it they dont die from it, how old is your dog? good luck from kathy a

You need to get a 2nd opinion or test immediately and advice for emergency care. Parvo is very serious and the puppy could die if you don't act urgently.
