I have seen ads for something on TV called urine-gone. It is guaranteed to be effective.

The ONLY thing you can do that works is pull up the carpet. Cut out the nasty padding, seal the floors with any kind of sealer, replace the padding, and shampoo the carpet. Nature's miracle does NOT work. Neither does anything else on the face of the earth. trust me, i've tried it. My dog peed in this one spot for the longest time and nothing worked. the minute we replaced it, the area hasn't smelled at all and the stain is gone after shampooing the carpet. You don't have to replace the actual carpet, getting the odor and smell out of it is easy with steam cleaning and woolite or something. It's the padding and subflooring that soak it up and make the room smell bad. And padding is cheap at Lowe's or Home Depot. Just cut out the section and replace it. Simple and it works.

I am an animal rescuer who likes my house to smell so good that no one could ever tell there are animals in it, so I will tell you my two all-time favorite solutions.

P.S. Don't use peroxide, it will bleach out your carpet .

1) Homemade recipe: 1 cup of white vinegar, a spot of dishwashing liquid, and water. Soak, scrub, and blot up.

White vinegar, by the way, left in a toilet bowl drained of water or a nasty bathtub or kitchen sink will turn them white again. I love white vinegar!

2) I've used all of the commercial preparations found on the market -- including the ones sold only at veterinary clinics -- and THIS one is hands down the very best.

You can add it to a mop bucket or laundry and get the smell out, too. My housekeeper just used it yesterday in a "heavy accident zone" -- can't even tell there was an animal there, today. Wow.

Any cleaner that uses natural enzymes that eliminates the odor should do the trick. I've used a product called Odormute in the past with good results. Good Luck!

You can use Nature's Miracle from the pet store. You just pour it on and let it air dry.
If you want a cheaper solution (but more work) use white vinegar. Dilute the vinegar, and pour it on. Leave it half an hour or more, then soak it up. Pour on some more water and soak it up. Keep doing this until the smell is gone.
Vinegar neutralizes the ammonia in the urine.

after washing them with detergent. not the too strong kind and then place them in the sun. Our sun is the most miraculous nature that would remove all odour in a good hot day.

Otherwise, if it is too big to move, then used steam cleaner with carpet detergent. by steaming will removed all smell and dirty.

You see those steam cleaner are able to effectively removed micro organism that would result in the smell.

My mom gets this stuff called odor ban or 'odo ban'. It really works. She gets it at Sam's Club. I don't know who else has it. Resolve works good on stains but I don't know about odors.
