Well, if you really want to do that here are a few things to do:
-be the one to feed it.
-play with it at least 30 minutes each day
-work with it on training
-don't hit it
-discipline it in a positive manner (showing it wait to do instead of what not to)

Don't ever yell at or hit your dog. Play with your dog, take it on walks. They are pack animals so if you are the one to feed it, it will look at you as the leader. Teach it to sit and other simple commands, they like to work and it will give you a special bond. If you can, get a book on dog care and training. It will help you understand your dog's feelings and help you know how to take care of it. Good luck, dogs are great!

Be it's food source. The hand that feeds is the most important hand in the house!
Walk it, and play with it more than anyone else.
Give it extra praise and healthy morsel treats with mild training.
While it relaxes, or sleeps, lay beside it and pet it. They LOVE that. Or, better yet, let it up on your bed when you sleep.

Be fair and kind to your dog. Use rewards (treats and toys) to teach your dog, and take a class to learn how to use a clicker. Remember that dogs will always do what's reinforcing - so it's up to you to learn how to be wonderful and fun for your dog.

A dog should not "like" you, a dog must respect you as its leader, and to do that, you have to train it properly. If you are a child, this is your parents' job, but the dog must still respect you as a pack leader or it will walk all over you (literally and figuratively). Ask your parents what they intend to do about training.

Be the one who feeds it.
However, don't expect to change the dog's mind if it doesn't like you best. My husband's pup prefers me over him...he is the one who feeds her, trains her, grooms her...I'm the one who does most of the discipline. Go figure.

Pay tons of attention to it. Play with it, walk with it, do whatever you want as long as you're spending quality time with the pooch. Also, a sure way to make him your favorite is to slip him treats under the table :)
