Flea treatments vary - capstar is daily, flea baths are daily, flea collars generally dont work, frontline & revolution and similar products are 3weeks to monthly(label instruction). There are no products that last longer.

Worming again varies - farm dogs 6 weekly, puppies 2 weekly until 16 weeks to 6 months depending on the habits of your puppy. The dog is then wormed with all wormer 3 monthly for life.

Heartworm is different and depends on if it even exists in your area. This again can be daily tablets, monthly, 6 monthly or 12 montly.

Fleas should be treated about once a month if you are using a good flea treatment, such as, K9 advantage. These are the flea treatments you can purchase from your vet. Worming should be done by the vet after he determines if your puppy has worms. Don't forget heart worm treatment which is also given once a month and bought from the vet. If you take a flea comb every other day and bathe Puppy once a week it will work. Neither of my dogs have fleas since I killed them all by hand. I take the comb to tBoo & Ivan every other day; voila no fleas! It saves the $80 to $100 that would be spent on Advantage every 3 months.
I used medicine from Krogers that is poured over dry dog food. It works for me. This is between vet visits. My dogs have had worms twice in 8 years, so... Dogs who live inside are less likely to get heart worms because Heart Worms are spread by Misquitos.

A puppy needs worming often up until 6months of age-
every 2weeks until 3months
every month until 6months
every 3months for the rest of the lifespan
When v.young you will notice they will have a pop belly this means worms are present and they require treament.
As for flea treatment it depends on the product. if using frontline you need to use the right product for the weight of the puppy and it should be applied every 8wks. or stronghold which is applied every 4 weeks, these are your best flea treatments and can be purchased from your vets.

they should be wormed every 3 months, you will be bettre off buying good wormers from the vet rather than shop wormer's as these dont clear all types of worms. If you dogs is indoors and havent been in connect with other dogs then 3 months for fleas but you will notice if they have fleas so you will need to do it then

I give my dog Heartguard Plus every month and Forntline Plus monthly in warm weather months (May to October when insects are active) ... and he has never needs to fleaed or wormed!

I have him tested for worms in his stool and for heart-worms in his blood once a year each, but he has never had either ... that is since he was a very young puppy of about 3 months and I first took him home when he did have worms in his stool (I'm told that is very common - normal even.)
