Just got back from Vet Hospital and diagnosis was Gastritis (is a general term used to describe inflammation of the lining of the stomach.). whoppinhg 450 for this too, but was well worth it. Nothing wrong with Pancreas. My reg vet told me she had pancreas problems, this doc this morning said she did not. Who can u believe? I pay monthly for wellness plan and end up at Vet hospital. I am forwarding this bill to Banfield. If I could have gone to regular vet it would have not cost me anything. OH well she is fine. Prescription is antibiotics for 10 days. Thanks for all your support.

Many dogs suffer from intermittent bouts of pancreatitis. The pancreatitis can be low level and not show up on a blood test. I would not discredit either vet. It is possible to have both diseases at the same time. I suspect your dog has a very sensitive stomach causing pancreatitis and gastritis. The vet/s should have offered you a special diet for your dog. Stick to the diet and do not give anything else. This will reduce the likelihood of your dog having to back to hospital for treatment of GI disease. Better luck in the future.

Did anyone suggest watching what she is eating? Is there a chance she is getting into cat food or eating road kill? Cat food causes a dog to have horrible gas. Road kill can actually kill your pet, especially if they are young and haven't built up immunities yet. I lost a collie pup and a 7 month old Husky to this very thing. Keep a close watch on her. Good luck.

Did she eat the tainted dog food that was recalled? Both of my cats are sick, I just returned a shootload of food to Walmart. I guess it was all laced with rat poison, whoever did this is going down. I hope she does better. :(
