they are two very diferent breeds,
samoyed sounds like it would fit better in your home
chows are really loners and like a quiet environment
while samoyeds love a big family and lots of excitement
but they are melodramitic and noisy, and shed alot

good luck

Of the two you mentioned, I would go with a Samoyed.
I have a friend who's parents own a chow. That dog loved me for years and then, all of a sudden, turned on me one day, for no reason what-so-ever. I have a hard time trusting chows due to this.

I have been around both the samoyed and chow chow's.
Our best friends have two boys and at one time had a chow chow that bit the one of their children. They ened up putting the chow down.
As for the samoyed - they are a loving dog and good with children. Both breeds are high maintenance and need lots of space.
Hope this helps.

Go with the Samoyed! The Chow Chow is a very agressive dog and not very family friendly. They are very protective and dont usuaslly warm up to strangers.
Samoyed are a bit more famly friendly and they do like people.

Samoyed, chows are untrustorthy and bad-tempered.
I've never had one but I know two different people who had one and they both got bitten by their dogs. The one guy had to put his down.

The big question here is that both dogs have alot of hair and will shed - tons. Are you prepared for that? Both dogs are considered a large breed and need lots of exercise so 2-3 walks a day.
Also - if you have a cat in the family already, neither of these dogs are good with cats. It might be alright to bring in a puppy and raise it with cats in the house but never bring in a full grown dog.

i had a samoyed and chow mix, but it was mean to other dogs.
my mom has a samoyed and she is really nice, i think that would be a great dog.
