There are many people out there who feed their dogs meat and bones so they know exactly what their pet is eating....

If you buy a quality pet food (not the supermarket stuff), they are great, but there are alot of "kibble" comapnanies which do use less desirable and less nutritious ingredients in order to make their dog food cheaper. Lots of dogs have allergic reactions to the "filler" ingredients like corn.
I don't personally have the time or money to feed my dogs raw so I feed them a high quality kibble where the first ingedient is either fish, lamb or chicken not corn.
The top kibble choices are Canidae, Solid Gold, Innova, Wellness, Nutro Natural Choice, Premium Edge, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's soul, Eagle Pack HOLISTIC, California Natural, Flint River Ranch, and Timberwolf Organics.

I see what you are getting at because I felt the same way...But, then I was doing some research on dog foods. And I found that there is alot of stuff that dogs cannot have. Like corn or soy products...They cannot digest the corn, and alot of dogs are allergic to soy...Some of the higher quality foods have human grade meats in them. Stuff like Iams, Science diet, Pedigree, Purina, etc. that you can find at wal-mart or the grocery store is not good at all...they are all filled with crappy ingredients and fillers that only make the dog hungrier and fatter. I found that Innova, Canidae, Nutra, and others are some really good ones. I feed my dogs Innova. My adult Chi gets the Innova Evo which has no grains, no fillers, and is filled with human grade meats and good veggies that the dog needs. It is sooo good that people could eat it if we wanted. My pup gets the Innova small breed puppy food. Which is just as good ....
My adult Chi is very picky. But, He LOVES the Innova Evo. My pup loves his Innova, but he could care less as he would prolly eat anything you gave him.

It's not wrong to feed your dog human food. But it is very difficult to ensure that your dog is getting all the proper vitamins and nutrients that he needs. Remember when you cook meat it loses alot of its nutritional value so your pooch is full but not necessarily healthy. And feeding raw meat your dog is susceptible to many parasites and bacteria. Talk to your vet, he/she should be able to either recommend a good quality dog food or help you plan a nutritional healthy meal plan for your dog.
Also as to dogs in the wild eating raw food realize that they eat what they catch so the raw meat is fresh not processed. Also most wild dogs/wolves carry many parasites.

There are many human grade and natural great dog foods that are more balanced. My dogs eat dog food with no fillers, no grains and meat is the #1 ingredient.

That theory came about to help train dogs to keep from begging at the dinner table.
