I was feeding Eukanuba dry, after days of thinking, asking yahoo users, bit of researching I decided to go to natural/organic--BUT who is to say there won't be a problem w/ that too?! So many of our pets our part of our family! I dont think I believe any of these companies. IS anyone thinking the same thing, is anyone MAKING THEIR OWN DOG FOOD? Have any recipes that include a well balanced diet for a medium sized dog, shes 2 1/2.
THANK YOU!

My dog got anti-baterial (spelling?) lotion in her eye yesterday. I immeadatly flusehed her poor eye with warm water. It didn't look that bad, just a little red. Then I geot extremly red, swollen and running with clear goo. She can't even open it! I flushed it all night and then this morning it looks a little better..... Should I tke her right to the vet? Do you think she will go blind?

We have heard from a couple of people that when a female dog is allowed to have numerous litters of pups, it takes "life" from them. One person even swore that it took a good 5 years off his Boxers life. What do you think? Have you heard that?

My family is thinking of getting an invisble fence for our dog because she keeps jumping the fence and playing with all the neighbors' dogs. Our next door neighbor already has an invisible fence from the previous owner, but it isn't activated. If we got an invisible fence, could we somehow connect it to out next door neighbor's invisible fence so our dogs can play in both yards???

We just got a great dane pup yesterday. He's been awake the whole night and went upstairs, now he couldn't go back down (LOL)- I think he's scared. He's so huge, how can we have him go down by himself? Also it took sometime before we could get him inside the house. We waited for him patiencly but now that he is inside, he won't go out Please tell me what to do, please! ;-)

Thank's a bunch in advance!

Yeah I plan on breeding my 2 year old maltese. If she goes in heat... Should I bring my dog to the male's house or bring the male dog here in the house?

BTW to answer the "Responsibility talk".. I plan on giving the offsprings to very responsible people I know so please if possible... Spare me the responsibility as a breeder talk.

I have a 5 month old Great Dane puppy. How long is too long to run (exercise) with a Great Dane puppy? I have read that it could be bad for their bone growth. Is this true?

I'm bringing a puppy home tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone has any advise. I've never owned a dog before, so I'm not sure exactly what to expect.

And before anyone says that I shouldn't have bought a puppy if I wasn't prepared, this was not planned. A friend found a lost puppy in her neighborhood and took it home. She posted signs everywhere, but no one has come forward. It's been a couple of weeks and now her dog and the puppy are not getting along. So she needed to find it a new home fast. Also, this may be a temporary situation; if her owners come forward, I will be giving her back.

I don't know how old the puppy is. She is semi-housebroken and doesn't seem to be chewing on anything. She's a rat terrier. Anyone have experience with these dogs? Will she be ok if I leave her home all day while I'm at work, probably confined to one room? If there anything I should be aware of??

Then almost everyone I know who has lost a pet gets another one within a month. How can they even compare this lost to a child? That is absolutley ridiculous. You never get over losing a child.

My puppy is scratching. She does not have flees. She is an indoor dog and she is scratching and pulling some of her fur off. Any ideas on how to moisturize her skin?

I have a 5.5 month old female Chihuahua, I've had her since she was 8 weeks old. When she was younger I could take anything bad she picked up out of her mouth without a problem. Now, since about 1.5 mths ago when she has something that I need to take out of her mouth she snarls aggresively, growls, and snaps. She even broken the skin and drew blood of my fiance and I. But after we get the dangerous thing from her she is back to normal and happy. She hasn't always done this though. Why is she doing this now, and how can I train her not to snap and bite when we are trying to help her? (She picks up things she shouldn't that she could choke on...) I've tried "calming" her, and reassuring her, petting her, etc, but she growls through all of it. Help, I don't want her to be a snappy dog! I'm confusing about this since she just started this for no reason. Thanks in advance for the advice.

He only vomits a small amount of this foamy, yellow stuff and never any more than that. I have talked to my vet about this, so I'm not just ignoring the problem and wasting time asking on the internet like I see so many people do. My vet didn't seem too concerned but I was wondering if any one else has had this problem? If you have, what was the cause of it and what did you do to help it?
