try an obedience class, or i saw something the other day on tv. you are sposed to put food on the floor on a plate covered on plastic wrap to give them the temptation and then reward them if they dont go for it. or just put up a baby gate when you are eating and dont let him back in till the floor is swept.

Dogs will eat off the floor if there is anything down there to eat, unless they are trained. And most times, it does them no harm.

Praise her for eating from her bowl, and tell her 'No!' if she tries to eat anywhere else is all I can think of. Besides, that might save her trouble of another sort: Some people are just mean-spirited enough to try to feed a dog poisoned meat.

Just relax. Dogs lick their hind end, so eating from the floor is certainly not going to hurt them. Anyway, if you drop some crumbs, just call the pooch to serve as "barkucleaner" Just make sure nothing is on the floor that could harm them, like rat poison, or chocolate, or cleaning liquids.

you dont have to keep thing immaculate to keep food off the floor. keep in mind that food dropped on the floor and left there will grow bacteria.... so if you drop it just pick it up, problem solved for both of you.

Prevent putting food on the floor, if she's not suppose to eat off of it.
