I have a three month old lab puppy. He is in the house now, but soon he will be too big to keep inside all the time. How big a pen should we build for him to have room to play and grow?

My wife and I have a 12 week old Jack Russell, and we're trying to make the decision of whether we want to neuter him. My question is about breeding and stud fees. How much would we be able to charge as a stud fee? He is registered with the World Wide Kennel Club, and according to the breeder we bought him from, his father was in a TV commercial. What are the ups and downs to this, and how much could we expect to get from this?

This is in no way meant to be offensive, just observations.
I really hope people here have more common sense than what we see on our screens. Some of the advice given on this page is awful, and could very well be extremely harmful to the pets you say you love so much.

I am asking you today that if you love your dogs as much as you say you do, please fully research any answers you get to your questions before actually following any advice.

People need to wake up from the media induced coma we've been in for years, and see the facts. Do not believe everything the news tells you. Like any other "tv show" they are out for ratings as well. There views can be one sided, and exaggerated.

Look at all the facts, and sometimes people need to realize that Yes you may know more than trusted "professionals". This is especially true with dogs. Some places are great for certain information, and horrible for other kinds.

Wake up Yahoo users. The "real" world is waiting for you.

I have a dog who keeps coming home drunk and smelling like beer, and I live on a farm with no neighbors close by. Where could he be getting beer like this? He gets so upset when I keep him in or fenced in the lot. What can I do?

My husband and I are trying to train our 12 week old JR. we are attempting to crate train and we try to take him outside to use the bathroom every 2 hours. however sometimes he pees in his crate...only has happened 4 times and we have had him for a week now. when he pees in his crate we just wash his bed but dont punish him because he has already done it and wont learn anything by us yelling. does it sound like we are training him right? do you have any tips and should i be concerned about his peeing in the crate or is it just something that will happen since he is a puppy. any adive would be great.
ps-usually as soon as i take him out he will go right away.

I've tried the frebreeze and it only added to this noxious odor. I've put out used coffee grounds and I've used oxy clean in a bath for her but I still smell it on her and through out the house. Any ideas would be welcomed.

What is a really good, affordable dog food for my Doberman?
Ok, I have been feeding my Dobie Purina dog food, bc thats what he likes. I hate it, but at this point, its too bad. I found out that on the Internet, not so much purina, but Iams, and other dog food companys where you can buy a 10 pound bag of dog food for $9, has dead uthanized animals, even cats and dogs! shelters send them to the dog food company. I always wonderd what happen to them?!

But any-whooo, whats a good dog food. and why? i will want your take on commercial dog food too, so tell me.
but remeber im not looking into pending more tan $25 for a bag, so go ahead and tell me. Also i have been subsituting every thing that he didnt have, or needed more of, and put it in his food, for example protein: i would make some sort of lean meat, or chicken. ( not raw) and give it to him, so hes healthy.

also, heres the link for the video of the dog food.

My Westie has a history of dermatitis, primarily on her back and on her vulva. While not totally gone, we've gotten it under control. I thought she was doing really well until a few minutes ago I noticed her tail had a bald spot and it looked like she had some dermatitis there.

Obviously, I plan on taking her to the vet as soon as I can get it, but is there anything I can do for her now? Luckily she doesn't seem to be in pain or itchy.

I think I am going to wash her tail with her medicated shampoo and put on a topical anti histamine.

She eats very high quality, holistic, food. Plenty of viatmins and flax seed.

What else can I do for her?

My mini-dachsund is almost 2 years old. He was in perfect condition when we bought him 7/4/05, but within a couple of months I started to notice that his tail lost almost all of its hair and his coat is very coarse and dry. I have tried changing his diet and shampoo, but it has never gotten any better. He is a very finicky eater (contrary to most in his breed) and the only food that I can get him to actually eat is Kibbles N Bits. I have tried more expensive brands that have more natural ingredients, but he won't eat them. Does anyone know if this is normal for dachsunds? What solutions have helped you?

My best bud of 8 1/2 years passed away recently. He was a dalmatian and i really feel like half of me died with him. I cant stop crying about it everyday, and its been 3 months since his passing. i want another dog, and my dad is fine with it. however, my mother says no. ive already written down all the pros of purchasing another dog, prooved to her that i can take care of it and pay for it..but she still says no. She says I can get whatever pet i want, exotic as i want, as long as i can keep it in my room. But no dogs, even if i keep it in my room. i really still want one, so should i just keep asking until she says yes?
