My best bud of 8 1/2 years passed away recently. He was a dalmatian and i really feel like half of me died with him. I cant stop crying about it everyday, and its been 3 months since his passing. i want another dog, and my dad is fine with it. however, my mother says no. ive already written down all the pros of purchasing another dog, prooved to her that i can take care of it and pay for it..but she still says no. She says I can get whatever pet i want, exotic as i want, as long as i can keep it in my room. But no dogs, even if i keep it in my room. i really still want one, so should i just keep asking until she says yes?

I wasn't allowed to have a dog as a child when our old dog passed away either. All I wanted was a dog so I know how you feel. If I had my time again I would have asked if I could take everyones dogs for a walk to prove my point. Now I am grown up I have 10 dogs! I train dogs to do agility, clicker training, flyball, infact just about anything. I think my parents feel guilty that they didn't let me have a dog, because I have proved how talented I am with them & make my living from them. Your mum maybe feels hurt about losing the dog & perhaps doesn't want the heartache again. The thing is, that heartache will be a long time coming & the years spent with a another dog brings so much pleasure. If she still keeps saying no, get a ferret! Ive got 2 & they are so funny. Next to a dog I would say they are the best pets. You can put them on a lead & walk them too. They do smell though, but you kind of get used to it.

Maybe your mom doesn't want the extra work and mess involved with another dog. A new dog would be a totally different personality from your buddy. You don't say how old you are but maybe you could help out at your local animal shelter. This would give you the opportunity to be around dogs, and also to help out with their care. Most places need dog walkers and people to clean cages and give affection to animals that other people threw away. Hang in there.

Get your mother and your father to talk together about the issue of you wanting a dog and only one of them agreeing on it. perhaps this will help persuade your mother. also, have a heart-to-heart talk with her about how your grieving about your dog who recently passed and that getting another Dalmatian puppy in the near future would help you stop mourning and feel responsible for another living thing again. explain to her that you feel hurt because you think that she is being kind of selfish and that no harm would come if you purchased another dog with your OWN money in a few months once you, her, and your dad looked into good breeders and stores.

Ask your Mom to take you to the pound to "Just Look" that works well. She will see a dog that she will fall in love with, and you and your family get a new dog, as well as the dog gets a new chance at life and you RESCUE it, another good work to throw out there, and the statement "We can keep another dog from getting killed, the shelters kill lots of dogs all the time"

Give her time she just dont want you to replace your hurt feelings for one dog with a new dog. Give it at about 3 to 4 months then start looking at puppies on the net and let her see how cute they are and she my start to want one to. It worked with my mom.

Oh puleez. Your mom of course would not want a canines, and she is merely searching for some excuses so she would not merely might want to inform you no. Slobber: I have owned canines my finished existence. the purely canines I have on the on the spot that slobbers is the australian shepherd, and she purely drools on the canines park (bypass figure...) Poop: each now and then my shih tzu's poo sticks to his bum, yet I keep him trimmed and it *infrequently* occurs, if ever. None of my seven different canines have this problem. Ever. dirty: I bathe my canines anytime they sense greasy or seem dirty. So my canines have almost NO puppy scent in any respect. Licking: I almost by no potential allow my canines lick me. To me it truly is fairly gross. So, my canines do not lick me. My siberian husky, and my australian shepherd both sparkling themselves like cats. heavily. My aussie will come interior muddy as might want to correctly be, and then she will be able to lick herself sparkling. No kidding.

Act like you're water rolling over a rock and just wear her down with repeated requests for a new canine pal.
