He's a 5-month old bichon frise. I know that bichons hate to be alone, but my dog is very when he thinks there aren't any people around; when he barks I tell him "Stop" in a firm voice (if I can catch him in the act). Usually, if he's outside of his crate he won't bark, but when he is outside he has a tendency to chew the chairs and furniture. He barks even when we're eating dinner. Any suggestions?

Hello.
When my dog goes to lie down he never slumps.
What he does is bury his head down into my side or a pillow etc and swings his but out and does almost a sommersault to lie down.
Is this common or ?

We take him out for half an hour or so after meals, and so on but he always does it in the kitchen. We have a garden and we'd like to teach him to go out on his own when he needs the toilet. We're getting one of the litter things too.

I would like to get me a new small dog (a chihuahua, yorkie, teacup pomeranian possilby). How can I get them to buy me new dog when they say we have enough animals? We only have 1 indoor dog, and outdoor dog, and three cats. The indoor dog is mine and I feed her, give her water, bathe her, and clean up messes. I am responsible and can take care of my pets.

I am worried about the effect of his bowels movements if I did this. I read that Cherrios could be used. I was thinking of the cost of them.

dog number one:
this dog will always love you. it will wait at the door for you, it will never be upset with you and it will always be happy to see you.
but this dog will always be in pain, and you will never be able to help it.

dog number two:
This dog doesn't care if you are it's master or if it never saw you again. but you will alway be able to give it the best life possible.

please don't just say you would not take any dog- this question is just to see what people would do if they HAD to do one.

I was at work yesterday so my daughter had to take our dog to the vet. When I got home, the place was closed so I couldn't call to discuss the drug prescribed. My dog needed an allergy shot (she's allergic to saliva from flea bites). Prior to the injection yesterday, she had been licking her fur alot. For three days, periodically she'd make this sound that resembles a high pitched snore, as if she were clearing her throat (from the hair, I think).
The vet checks her lungs and they sound clear. She then prescribes 1/4 of a hydrocodone (vicodin without the acetaminophen)tablet to be taken daily. Why would she prescribe hydrocodone when her lungs are clear and the coughing is not from congestion after a cold or asthma. With the lungs being clear and healthy, I would think the medication would be rendered useless. It won't stop the coughing due to hair licking. My daughter didn't get an explaination from the vet. Should I give my dog the pills? Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks.

My friends american bull staff can't walk with his back legs. It has only just happened, but when he walks he can't use his back legs. He is fine in himself apart from this. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

My dog is just laying around and won't eat. We are going to take him to the vets but i was curious to see if anyone knows what it may be? He is also getting increasingly skinny. Should he be taken to the vets or not? What is wrong with him?
