Sorry but that is about the average age that this annoying habit begins. My suggestion, get him neutered. Mounting is somewhat hormonal and also behavioural. It can be trained out or at least minimize it. But neutering really helps make the difference. It's up to you of course but it does help.

The sooner you get this under control the better. Neutering will help but it's no guarantee that he will stop. You have to make him stop. Yelling at him isn't going to work you just have to physically make him stop. Pushing him down firmly and then telling him NO is a really good start but you have to do this every time he tries to mount anything.
Persistence on your part is the answer.
P.S. Well you didn't say he was nutered! Then this is a learned action and I still say that you have to train him that this is not acceptable in your home.

If your dog is neutered and five months old and is now doing this behavior you need to let him know in no uncertain terms that this type of behavior WILL NOT be tolerated by you and that is not good behavior and you are not pleased.
Let him know you are angry and you are not going to let it happen.
Each time he does it stop him and scold him and lety him know you are not happy with him. Or how ever you chose to disipline him do so.
Once he learns that it displease you and you are not going to take it he will stop.
What you are seeing is his dominant behavior and he is trying to show you that he is the dominant one in your relationship.
Stop it now or you could have bigger problems down the road.

Sounds like he could be a good candidate for early neutering. He is trying to dominate you.Get him into puppy obedience class ASAP.
