Hello.
When my dog goes to lie down he never slumps.
What he does is bury his head down into my side or a pillow etc and swings his but out and does almost a sommersault to lie down.
Is this common or ?

Dogs like to be comfortable just like us. They rest and sleep
in strange positions. One of my dogs sleeps on her back with
her legs in the air. One snores so loud, you'd think it was a
human. They all do silly things and that's why we love them
so much. Our dog is also a bed hog, when I move over the
dog is right there to take up more space.

Yes this is common. Some dogs even makes circles before they finally lie down. Their just trying to make the spot more comfy!

Perhaps you need to get a vet to check his joints?

He might be just trying to get comfortable.
