My friends american bull staff can't walk with his back legs. It has only just happened, but when he walks he can't use his back legs. He is fine in himself apart from this. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

It's either a staffordshire bull terrier, a bull terrier, an american pit bull terrier , an american staffordshire terrier or a cross breed.
Irrelevent of the breed the dog needs a vet!!

Sudden onset on not being able to use his back legs is very serious. It could be almost anything. First thing to come to my mind is Lyme disease. Another is a back injury your friend may not be aware of or it could be arthritis.
What ever is causing this it should be properly diagnosed by his vet.
Tell your friend to get the dog to the vet ASAP!

back injuries, spinal cord issues, some sort of disease process causing neurological abnormalities, lot of things could be the culprit. they're all serious. not being able to walk on your back legs is a serious problem. is your friend retarded? have him take it to a vet, or shoot it, and then tell him to get a pet rock because he's an idiot and shouldn't be in control of another living thing

American Pitbulls, theres no such thing as American, Staffordshire Bull terriers. Unless its a cross of an American Pitbull and a Staffordshire Bull terrier. Then i suppose its a American Bull Staff
Has your friend taken it to a vet, it might have problems at the rear end of his body ie, arthritus etc. Its also possible that its been hit by a car or bike, i would get him checked over properly, im sure he'll be ok.

It could be a hip problem or a back problem-only a vet will know which and be able to treat it.
