Buy him some toys to keep him occupied, maybe he will stop chewing your furniture.

I actually have the same problem w/ my lab. She barks especially when she wants attention. I've been trying water as my deterrent. It is cheap as hell & effective. Try filling a squirt bottle - the dollar stores, among others, carry them - and when the dog barks, give it a little squirt in the face or snout. It doesn't hurt them, but it's uncomfortable. Eventually they learn that whenever they bark, this happens, so they stop barking. Hope this helps!!

Hi I have two suggestions. One, if you go out and put him in his crate put a radio on so he doesn't here the outside noises and they don't hear him and he will quiet down. That is what I do with my three. If he is out of the cage I have a pepsi can with coins taped in it and I either rattle it or if they are at the door I throw it by them , not hit them and say HEY NO!! they get the hint but don't let them see you throw it so they dont know you did it. Mine now all I say is I'll get the can and my Papillon shuts up. They are the best yappers.
Good luck

Try ignoring him when he barks, will be hard to start off with, but is he just looking for attention? We have a puppy retriever and we leave the tv on for her, and she has lots of toys. Good Luck

leave the television or radio on when you are out, even when ur home.
use a water spray bottle ,one squirt at the dog (not at the dogs face) when it barks, keep at it with the word you have been using @ STOP..
and yes lots of safe chew toys.

Maybe bring him to a dog trainer to get trained. Did you try playing a radio in the house when you are gone. Of record your voice and play it with you saying stop every half hour.

there is a coller that you can buy that shocks the dog a little every time it barks or just get control of your dog every time it acts up.

sorry but he won't stop barking. A dog training school may reduce his barking but will not stop him completely.
