The doggie biscuits he has at the moment are new to him so maybe they are the problem .. other than that we are now going for a loooooooong walk along the beach :)

I to had this experience and the culprit was the dog bisque's I was giving my dogs. They were too high in fat!
I have since found a biscuit called Old Mother Hubbard's that are great. No more gas! The dogs love them.

What is he eating? If you are feeding him a corn based dog food that is probably the answer. Foods like Purina are made mainly from corn, and give dogs terrible gas. Read the ingredients on the label, if the first thing listed is corn or some type of vegetable, that is the problem. Try a food that list chicken or lamb as the first ingredient. Talk to your vet or a pet store to learn how to switch your dogs food.

For dodgy tums in dogs and windy problems, try purchasing Buscopan from the chemist. Available over the counter without prescription, it's something your vet would recommend, but charge you the earth for. If your dog is suffering from tummy ache too it will really help.

A change in diet can cause this. The bacteria in their digestive system have to adapt to the new food.

Have a box of matches on hand, to help dissipate the smell. Try and work out if it is something in his diet that is doing it, by excluding anything you may think is the cause. Certain foods whilst not being 'crap' may just not agree with his belly.

Set him outside, if you have a fence... or you could stick him in a room and close the door.
Dont' feed him so much human food.
