NO. Things like that run in lines and are not attached to color. What might be true is that a certain breeder, or in a given area there are certain breeders who have lazier lines which happen to be Chocolate. In other lines (maybe in a different show area) someone may have active chocolates. But rumors like that develop because of people's lines and temperament traits such as activity levels are not related to color, they run in lines. Lines in dogs refers to genetic relatives but that does not mean they are all the same color.

I use to have a black lab and her vet told me that all labs are either really busy and playful or they are very laid back and quiet. He also told me that a lab if it get injured will keep going, they have a tendency to kind of suck it up and ignore the pain.

I totally believe what he told me as mine was always busy, if a leaf even moved she was over there checking it out. If she saw the jet stream from a jet in the sky she was jumping up and trying to get it.

There were a couple of times when she would hurt her self jumping up and her leg would be hurt, you could see it. I'd rush her to the vet and have them look at it, the vet would be say just keep her quiet for a couple of days and she will be alright. That was after the x-rays were taken.

Any way we'd get her home and the next thing on the same day about an hour later she'd be walking normal again. We called her our little faker as she did this several times.. We absolutely loved that dog, her name was Jasmine and she was the best and smartest dog I've ever seen.

Labs are terrific dogs to own.

No, that's not true. However, my chocolate lab is extremely lazy and would rather sleep than play, though I think the hot weather might have something to do with it.

they are all labrador retrievers, the "chocolate" just refers to their haircoat. labs all tend to be equally fat and stupid regardless of their color
