So I'm crate training my puppy who is 11 weeks old. I put the puppy pad down in her crate and when she poops she poops ON the pad BUT she winds up getting the poop EVERYwhere!!! I have to bathe her EVERY day!!! Should I tape the pad down to keep it from moving everywhere? I don't know if that's the problem but the poop gets all OVER!!! I'm scrubbing this crate EVERY day! Does anyone have any solutions that work????

she was treated 3 times in the past 6 wks. with over the counter meds. the worms are an inch long, kind of curved and mostly white although some look a little reddish to pinkish on the ends as if maybe there is blood in them. What kind of worms are these, what caused them, also are the treatable by a vet? I also have another dog, would he have worms since the other one does? Would the dog with the worms be getting them from eating our cats feces? help

No matter how many times we tell her no she still bites huge holes in our garden fencing. Our other dogs (rottweiler and spaniel) never behaved in this way so it's a tad puzzling. We have tried a muzzle which she succesfully removed and ate and are now having to keep her in the garage.
She is walked every day and has numerous toys, but still insists on chewing holes in the fence! She is seven months old and can do sit, stay etc but getting her to stop this is driving me mad - not least to say that I am going to have to replace 6 fence panels : (
Please help!!!!!

My dog Cookie was recently diagnosed with Cushings and she also has a heart murmur. I first noticed she was ill when she had a seizure/episode. After being hospitalized, getting treatment and now on Lysodren and Enalapril she seemed to be her old self (she's 11 yrs). A week after starting the Lysodren she had another episode (she collapses backward, her legs go straight, and she howls in pain), they usually last less than a minute and she seems to recover quickly, however after her last one she wont eat, drink just sleeps, seems very weak. I've noticed that the last 2 episodes which came almost 24 hrs apart, came almost 2 hrs after I gave her the Lysodren. After almost 3 wks, and $3,000 later, I still dont know what's causing these episodes and I'm very concerned. Could the Lysodren be making her worse instead of better? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 3 month old female pug.
She has started to get a rash on her lower belly that has spread to her leg and her "lower area".It appears to be swollen and in a few spots, an open wound.
Is there anything I can do for her at home, or should I take her to the vet?
She was purchased at a pet land pet store in a local mall 9 days ago. Should I take her there and let them look at her?
I have no emergency vets where I live.

Every time I ask a question about my yorkie I have people telling me that these dogs are ugly,mean,rats...and stupid stuff like that.I noticed that when the question is about a small-sized dog you get comments like that! What is the problem?I personally believe that all breeds are beautiful, each one with its unique way.So why are some people being mean about certain breeds?

My cocker spaniel dog was hit by a car and her back was broken. She had no internal injuries. She has no use of her back legs and no control of her bowels or urine at this time. We need to locate a wheeled device that we can strap her into so she can get around on her own without difficulty. Right now she insist on dragging herself around the house with her front legs and upper portion of her body. She is not in pain because she has no feeling on her lower half of body. If she continues to drag herself around though she will cause damage to the skin tissue of underside of lower body and we don't want that. This dog is only 4 years old. She is very much a fighter in the sense that she is not willing to give up. She wants to be whereever I am in the house so everytime I move to a different place I have to pick her up and take her with me to keep her from dragging herself to get where I am. She weighs about 35 lbs. Please help me! Thankyou

I have a 7 month old english bull dog. Her behaviors were starting to get better, she was completely house broken (except for some happy peeing), never soiled her kennel, and seemed to be calming down in general. About a month ago, I took her to get spade. She's been a completely different dog since. Little by little she's reverting back to her behavior as a small puppy, she bit me out of anger, has become more agressive with the other dogs and has now messed her cage 2 days in a row. Does anyone know if there's a reason why dogs go back to acting like the did when they were small puppies and how to change it?

My neighbor has two huge boxer dogs that run all over the place. I carry pepper spray and I ask my wife to carry it whenever she's in the yard. Our neighbor on the other side has small children and the other neighbors Boxer sometimes run across my yard into the adjoining yard where the children live.
Is there any danger?

Here is the thing before any of you think we are heartless, we love our Brittany Spaniel very much she and our lab are family members which is why this is hard for me. When I was growing up I was raised to believe a pet is a pet for life nothing to be tossed away and you dont get an animal if your not going to keep it for their entire lifetime. Our Brittany {thats her name} is just over a yr old when we got her my husband had planned on spending time w her working w her and teaching her to be a great hunter, because she has an amazing nose on her and is awesome at retrieving even in water with total grace and she doesnt give up until she retrieves what she was instructed to get. However in the last yr since we got her our daughter spent most of the last yr in the Pedi ICU battling her lung disease then we had a baby and honestly between my daughter being in a hospital 100 miles away and having the new baby he didnt have time to spend working w her that she deserves. She isnt a bad dog..

In an attempt to help others decide on which breed of dog to bring into their home, I thought it would be neat to see what many of you personally think of your dog- positives and negatives.

Me? 4yr old German Shephard (mix?) from a rescue org. Kept indoors on 10 acre farm in the country.

Pos- Very loyal, by my side, easy to train, best behaved when well exercised (what dog isn't?) and protective (although, never bit a person). Very lovable with owner and family.

Neg- Sheds like crazy! His hair is EVERYWHERE, no matter how much I vaccumm. Also, very dependent on the owner- constantly wants to be in "your face." Maybe b/c he's a rescue, but he can get overly excited when strangers come to the house. VERY VOCAL- like, screaming in our ears when we drive with him in the car??? (probably a behavior that should had been corrected a long time ago...)

My pup has very small pills to take for indigestion (about 1/4 a tablet). Any ideas on how to give it to him? He keeps spitting it out. Finally I diluted it in water and had him drink the water. But I want to be able to give it to him whole like the Vet said I should. Thanks for your help. This is a great way for a new dog owner to find out some info!
(Oh, he's not eating due to his upset tummy, do I can't hide it in his food - plus he needs the meds an hour before he attempts to eat)

I need help bad. I am so scared right now. This morning I was sitting on the couch with my 2 month old Min Pin in my lap, just relaxing watching Tv. Then my min pin ( Ginger is her name) started gagging then she threw up all over my house robe. But thats not the scary part. I looked at her throw up because I had to get it off, and saw something that looked like a strand of spaghetti and then it started to twirl. I got so scared. I knew it was some type of worm, but I do not know what kind. Also what should I do for My pup. I know I should have already taken her to the vet to get wormed.. But after today I will never be late on doing that again.. Also can My family and I catch this? Serious answers only,, I need help now, It is Sunday and The vet is not there. Thankyou for your help.
