So I'm crate training my puppy who is 11 weeks old. I put the puppy pad down in her crate and when she poops she poops ON the pad BUT she winds up getting the poop EVERYwhere!!! I have to bathe her EVERY day!!! Should I tape the pad down to keep it from moving everywhere? I don't know if that's the problem but the poop gets all OVER!!! I'm scrubbing this crate EVERY day! Does anyone have any solutions that work????

Hi, I think I can help you. First of all, I'm not being rude, but
don't put the pad in the crate. The dog should be in the crate
to sleep, not to do his business. The purpose of the crate is
to teach the dog to hold his buisness. It's his bed and safe place.

Put the pad in an area where you don't mind the dog pooping and
peeing for awhile. Close to where the pup will be eating.

When the pup comes out of the crate, take him to the pad and
do the same thing when the pup eats or drinks. When the
pup does do it's business on the pad, praise him to death. Rub
his belly and give him a treat. Keep this up and it will become
a routine which is very important, and the pup will come to
understand where it is he is supposed to go. If you plan to
get your dog to go outside than, just pup a leash and colar on
him and try to take him to the same area where he did his
business before. If you want to train your pup to pee inside all
the time. I have a good suggestion. We bought a big litter
box for dogs. I put a grate in it, so when my dog does pee in it,
he dosen't get it on his paws. I used the pad in there for awhile
so the dog would get used to going in there. But treats and
other rewards are very important. It will make your pet happy
and you will be to if you get the results you want.

You should not put a puppy pad in the crate.
You are reinforcing that she should go in the crate to relieve herself.

ALWAYS take a puppy outside approximately every 2-3 hours.

They will get the hang of it...they learn to relieve themselves outside.
