she was treated 3 times in the past 6 wks. with over the counter meds. the worms are an inch long, kind of curved and mostly white although some look a little reddish to pinkish on the ends as if maybe there is blood in them. What kind of worms are these, what caused them, also are the treatable by a vet? I also have another dog, would he have worms since the other one does? Would the dog with the worms be getting them from eating our cats feces? help

As you have already found out OTC dewormers are worthless. They also can be very dangerous. You need to take a stool sample in to your vet and also take one of the worms the dog is passing..the vet will do a fecal test to determine if there are any other type(s) of worms present as well and will give you the appropriate dewormer for your dog.
You should deworm both dogs and also your cats as well (only exception would be if the dog only had tapeworms since these are NOT transferable from pet to pet). It sounds like your dog has roundworms and these are transferable from pet to pet.

***heartworms are NOT seen in the stool. They are only found during bloodwork (heartworm test). They are NOT transferable from pet to pet)*******

Your dogs probably both have worms. If they are passing them on their own between treatments then they have a sustancial worm load and you need to take them to the vet for a better or stronger deworming treatment. Stomach worms ( and these sound like roundworms) can actually block a dogs Gastrointestinal tract and kill it.

You need to vet them all into the vets.
Yes! your cat can be the culpret here, especially if it's an outside act. It probably is!
Over the counter wormer only work so well, you need your vets help now. It sounds like round worms or even hook worms to me but if your not treating it properly they will always be there.
A vet visit is your only answer.

hey, sure the worms could properly be exceeded onto human beings, i'm talking through journey, besides the undeniable fact that the worms are literally not inevitably picked up contained in the living house, can take position through play, nursery, college, the signs and indications are the youngster is scratching there bottom in various cases, the eggs are picked up through there nails, from petting animals, playing contained in the backyard etc, and in no way washing fingers, then there hands are of their mouth tranfering the worms into the gut. you're doing the right cautions ie usual handwashing and makesure you wash puppy bedding usually and vacum you living house on a daily basis, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is rare, i'm only talking through operating with babies and that i understand they can get worms. I particularly have a 2year previous and a labrador and we've in no way had a issue, i trojan horse and flea my dogs commonly.

Do they sort of try to stand up and dance like a cobra or a rattle snake? If they do those are whole tape worms and they are not killed by many wormers. Droncit, and panacur may do it, or a script from the vet. But with tape fecals do not show worms. Tape is seen by the naked eye, either as rice like particles or whole. I don't know what country you are in but in many countries there are over the counter wormers for tape also
