Every time I ask a question about my yorkie I have people telling me that these dogs are ugly,mean,rats...and stupid stuff like that.I noticed that when the question is about a small-sized dog you get comments like that!What is the problem?I personally believe that all breeds are beautiful,each one with its unique way.So why are some people being mean about certain breeds?

i asked a similar q about a week ago. i noticed that all the pit bull advocates and the cesar milan bashers got to get their opinions out.
Makes me mad!!!!
your yorkie is not a mean ugly dog. yorkies are teriers and they have very strong, unfearful personalities.
they think they are rottweilers. really!
most people don't understand dog behavior. dogs have a language of their own that very few of us speak. that's why i call myself the dog whisperer. i undestand dog. not all of it, but most of it and i'm learning every day.
for some reason some people feel they have to defend certain breeds. right now it's the pit bulls i personally believe that most peope don't understand pits.. even the sweet loving pits who never harm anything. they still don't understand breeding traits and the potential for certain things like AGGRESSION.
just ignore the p5icks, and move on.
they are just ignorant SOB"s they'll see the light one day, maybe

All dogs are beautiful in individual ways. Some people just have prefrences. Some people dont like little dogs period. My boyfriend is the same way about little dogs. He likes the fact that i dont own a dog under 10 lbs, he even thinks my corgis are too small. He makes horrible comments about my friends long haired chihuahua. Even though i prefer big dogs, i never turn a dog away no matter its looks or size. Its just people being people nothing more, dont let it bother you or stop you from asking questions... just dont ask about breeding LOL cause thats a sore spot around here.

In most cases I find that people with a mean attitude toward a specific breed have either had a bad experience with the breed in the past or have had no experience with the breed.
As a groomer, I find Yorkies to be very personable and easy to work on. I never believe people who have extreme attitudes toward anything. You usually have to watch that they don't take a dislike to you.

Your right-but its the same with people-you always here people discriminating about small people..... its like small is less of a whole then big....I think Yorkie's are adorable......i like all dogs-pure breeds or not,the (almost) same-some i like more...but i don't not like any!But people on here think the bigger the dog-the more power to them :( which is not true!i hope this helps :) but don't let people get to you too much-some people don't have a life so they leave bad comments!

Take no notice of ignorant people,everyone to their own,if they don't like little dogs that's their opinion personally i think they should just not answer questions if they cant give a sensible answer,and bye the way my daughter has a yorkie he is just as cute as can be, and this is my little dog on my profile she is also little & cute.

Everyone has their favorite breed. Some people just do not care for certain breeds and are very vocal with their disdain because they can not see past their own prejudices. I would not take it personal. This is an open forum so you are bound to get many opinions. As the saying goes opinions are like @ssholes and everyone has got them.

I love small dogs. Yorkies are great. People are often insensitive and rude ... or jealous. I have cockers spaniels. A neighbor approached and said "Their heads are small because they have no brains". I was shocked that he would say such a thing. I just kept walking. Just love your dog all the more to make up for the jerks of the world.

I know this one! My mothers that way. The main reason why allot of people don't like little dogs is because they can't protect you like a big dog could. And the only really use full thing other then love you that they can do is bark at nothing and bug the %$#@ out of you.

I have no idea, most people would rather not answer your question instead they make fun of the main thing your talking about. I love yorkies i think they are very cute infact i'm going to get one soon!
