My dog gets mad when i blow into his nostrils, but when my dad takes him out in his pick-up truck, he sticks his head out so the wind can blow into his nose. Anyone knows why that is so?

Why do so many people have these dogs? All I hear is how smart they are and what great pets they are. I have yet to meet one that is as smart as a poodle, or as brave as Schnauzer. Plus they shed and slaber all over the place.

while she's out jogging several miles through gang terratories and provoking gang members with obscene gestures late at night? 2 dogs to work as a team, which type would be good? Not German Shepherds. These are going to be protection dogs first, pets second.

what is a good way to "mark" each puppy as it is born. We were going to use different colored string but then we read that it sometimes gets licked off or comes undone. any different ideas?

I took Coopernicus, "Cooper", into the Vet this morning to get him microchipped and to get his 9 week shots. I could tell something was wrong when the vet silently listened to his stethoscope for about 5 minutes. Cooper has a heart murmur and arrhythmia (double beat - but only when under stress). His murmur is between a stage 2 & 3 (out of 6). He also said that this is definitely congenital, and should have been discovered in previous examinations by the breeder's vet. The vet said that the next step is an eco-cardiogram to determine whether this is something that he can survive or not. The breeder guarantees the pup against hereditary defects so they will pay for the EKG. Needless to say, I did not get him microchipped nor did I get his vaccinations…I was instantly grief stricken. My fiancee is beside herself…How serious is this? Does anyone have any similar experiences?

I have a 4 mnth old long coat chihuahua and her ears are still mostly down. I've read they usually come up between 3 to 8 months. They are cute now but I think the cutest thing about chi's are their little ears. I've been told if you message their ears away from their head from the base to the tip that this will help. Any other ideas?

I have a 4 1/2 month old Boxer, and he went in for his last set of booster shots on Saturday. Since then, he hasn;t been eating as much as normal, and has been kind of lethargic. The vet did say he'd probably be tired, so that didn't concern me. Just now he had some pretty bad diareah and he's still not eating much or drinking much water. I called the vet and got a very vague response "you can bring him in today, or watch him until tomorrow and then decide." So my question is, has anyone else noticed this with their puppies? Should i be really worried?

My dog hates to be outside. After doing his business he heads straight for the door and he wont walk anywhere elsde other then to go and then come back in. If you walk away he just sits there. Hes only 8 weeks old. Is he just to young to want to be outside? WHill he get better? If I carry him down the street he tries to walk up to someone elses door "I live in a subdivision and all the houses look the same".

I have a pembroke welsh corgi that's about 2 year old male. For the past month or two I've noticed that he starts to get scared of something...like all of a sudden I notice he's sitting in a corner shaking and seemingly really scared of something. I've been home with him all day and nothing unusual. I don't abuse him...in fact he's spoiled rotten. Has anybody else had this issue or know what might be wrong with him? This is happening on several occasions and it's got me worried? Is he being abused behind my back? I can't think of any reason for him to be so scared. I'll call the vet but I just wanted to get some advice out there. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I need some help. I just got the cutest lil yorkie. He is black and tan and sooooo cute. I need help with naming him. I want a cute name, but not too girly. I like biblical names......yes I want him to have a human name, unless some one can come up with a really cute name. Please help me, because when it comes to names I am not too creative. Thanks!!

on her leash when she sees other dogs becuase she wants to play with them, so badly? Sometimes she sees people that she has decided she wants to play with, too, and she strains to get to them. I do not want to yank on the leash becuase I do not want her to think I am scared, and that she needs to protect me, this happened with my yorkie. Matter of fact it seems all my dogs have pulled on their leashes. They obey me otherwise.
