My 120 lb. dag was hit by a car and is suffering. There is no way I can load him into the car with my three kids because he is so large and is in so much pain. My hubby will not be home until tommorrow morning and I don't want the dog to suffer. He is 12 years old and broke the lock on our yard and was hit hard by a car in the chest. He can't get up now and is breathing very hard. He will not tolerate bring touched or moved. I can't find a vet to come to my house. I can't shoot a gun or I'd dispatch him so he wouldn't suffer. Please only serious suggestions that are humane and no guilt. With 3 children, I'm already there.
Thanks

We recently took our puppy to get groomed at Petsmart. When we went to pick her up, the groomer came out and said she wasn't able to clip her nails. She said that she was squirming all over the place and was scared of it, so she just "couldn't do it." After about 20 minutes of me asking her why she couldn't just get someone to help her hold our puppy and asking what they do when this happens (because surely this isn't the first time it has happened with another dog), she finally called the manager. The manager took our puppy, tried to clip her nails and again said that she just couldn't do it. She said she didn't want to overly stress our puppy and that she was scared of getting bitten if our puppy got too upset.

This is the SECOND time that Petsmart "hasn't been able to clip her nails." We're able to do it at home, and we've taken our puppy to other groomers, who have never had a problem. So what's the deal?? Has anyone else had problems at Petsmart grooming?

He's black and brown, little 10 month old puppy. So far we have a couple ideas:
Rufio [not sure how to spell it, but the guy with the mohawk/multi colored hair fom Hook, with Robin Williams]
Smokey
Frodo
Rocket
Bullet

etc.
My dad will be the final answer on any name. I am really surprised he didn't mind Frodo, cause he always makes fun of LOTR, but just to keep in mind, he's gotta like it. He didn't go for Ringo, which I really like .... Anyways!
Thanks for answering!

My dog has been eating very little lately. We feed her, then she eats like 1/4 of her food, which is very unusual. She is 8 months old. Could she be starting menstration, or could she not like the food were giving her. She also is acting very different 2, she usually is frisky, and happy. But shes quiet, and always looks sad 4 some reason...

Let's say hypothetically you own a dog that under the law requires a muzzle (we have that law where I live in Ontario for pit bull type dogs). Do you think it is reasonable to allow them to run off-leash with familiar dogs that they used to play with?

Is it reasonable to let them off-least with strange dogs?

Do you think it would cause a somewhat aggressive dog to become more aggressive?

Do you dogs would attack the muzzled dog?

OK, I can't find this answer on the dog whisperer, but Cesar did say not to take it out of their mouth, to make them drop it, but how ? and how to not obsessively want to chase cats. They are Shihtzus.

Hello. I have a family of three kids. 8-year old girl, 3-year old boy and a 2-year old girl. My boy is really active, you know how boys are. My wife is also active, she runs a lot in the morning, around the neighborhood.

I work at night (graveyard shift 10 pm to 7 am) and my wife and kids are left by themselves alone in the house. The house has a backyard, three story, 5 bedrooms, lots of entries/exits. We do have a security alarm.

With all that said, now the question is, we are looking for a guard dog or any dog that will guard my family at night when I'm at work, play with my kids, run with my wife in the morning. We wanted one that has little hair, don't drool on the carpet as much, intelligent, one that doesn't just bark pointlessly, one that sits in one corner and watches. Doberman was our choice but after reading and researching, it seems that it is not advisable to have Dobes with kids. What's the next best thing for us? Lab? Mini Schnauzer? Jack Russel?

Thank you in advance.

I adopted a JRT awhile ago. He's four years old approx. I love and adore him! But he's crazy hyper. AND NEUTERED!

I often wonder what he was like as a puppy, I adopted him from a rescue that found him as a stray.

Anyone ever had JRT puppies, tell me what their like!

He maybe a Jack-Rat terrier, kinda hard to tell. He's intensely hyper and very emotional... but the love of my life!

My friends mother has a beagle she rescued some time ago. The problem is that from time to time the dog becomes very aggressive and from what I am told attacks various family members. Most of the time it seems to happen if you are reaching in her direction or you move toward her too quickly. Her mother has been told she should have the dog put down but I suspect abuse since they have no history from a previous owner. The dog has been this way since they got her.I am positive that there is retraining to correct this instead of killing the dog but we don't know where to find the info we need.can anyone help?
