Dogs - March 2007

He eats quite alot, about 31/2-4 cups a day. and i was just wondering bc i heard lots of good things about it, and i want to switch my Dobie. I looked at the site and i liked what they said, and i looked at the ingrediants, and liked them. So how much is it for about 10-15 pound bag of dog food?

Or if you recomend something else, tell me what and how much i can get it for?

I just got a new pup... his dam is a Rottweiler and his sire a Siberian Husky. He looks alot like both breeds but I am curious to get a sneak peek idea of what he may look like as an adult compared to other similar mixes. He already looks alot like my other dog who is a Shepherd/husky/???who knows whatelse mix.. lol Check out some pics of him and share some pics if you have a similar mix please!

i have a 9month old black lab.. we discovered yesterday that there are 4 little sore like the size of a needle pin head cluastered together underneath my dogs tongue...there kinda hard and white in color..it's not open sores or bleeding and it doesn't have a smell..it doesn't seem to bother him for he can eat well and very active as usual..can anyone tell me what could this be? and if u had similar with yours..i would really appreciates your input..thank you..

i need to know what kind if puppy dog to get that will learn to get used to the 2 big dogs on either side of our finece that will grow to except these dogs ans yet protedt my yard and not fight with them they are big dogs a sheapered and a huskey is what 2 on one side is and im not suer what the outher dogs are buy they are just as big

I taken my dog Porky (nearly 6 months old) to a dog park, I didn't really know what to expect for I never been to one before, at first my dog wasn't sure what to do until after a few minutes he got the ideal and quickly settle down and was having a blast up to an hour which was the time I was about to leave the park I was just about to put the leash back on him when all of a sudden out of the blue here comes dogs that without warning jumped on my dog, and the next thing I knew four more dogs jumped on in on top of the first two dogs that attacked my little dog!

By that time I was totally freaking out and fear the worse for my little doggie which turn out to be that he did a fast disappearing act amist of all of these big dogs that I didn't even notice that he ran off even!!

All of the dog owners also came as fast as they could to break up the fights and I am glad that my dog didn't get the worse end of the deal and only a scratch.

Never going back to a dog park again!

Okay, first I know most will say "your not a breeder so spay your dogs" or " go adopt a dog", but regardless, if anyone has some helpful advise it would be much appreciated. My two dogs are both virgins (he's 5 and she's 2) and he is much shorter then she is. She is almost finished this heat (she's at day 13 or so with less then 1 week to go max) and he is having the hardest time. Are there any tricks that might be helpful? It is getting annoying watching him try so hard and just miss every time!!

I am going to be buying a puppy and i would like some tips to avoid bad things from happening.
This is the first time i am buying one so i am trying not to get into troble with my mom because of it. She is not usally like this about things like this, but her friends say that they end up regreting getting the dogs because of little problems so please give only good advise that can be usefull in any way for correcting bad behaviors.(for dogs only)

Do dogs who eat the same brand of dog food everyday ever get tired of it?

My 5 month old puppy has recently had a loss of apetite. She doesn't seem like she wants to eat her dry kibble. We took her to the vet though and he said she was fine.

We also add canned food mixed with dry kibble to her meals but she only eats the canned food. We thought it might be because her gums were sore due to teething so we soak her kibble in water. But even then she won't eat it or she will only eat a portion of it. Any thoughts?

i just rescued this dog a few weeks ago and i love him to pieces, he lays at my feet all the time, but pretty often a rancid smell burns my nose and makes my stomach curdle, something has got to give, i am already surrounded by gas machines, with my husband and 3 little boys, but now my dog, what can i do. i know he doesnt need to poop, cause i make sure he takes care of business before he comes in, its almost like hes claiming his territory in a very different, smelly way. i know hes not, it just smells that way. help please

I know that this is a behavioral problem such as dominance, but I would have never thought that he would penetrate him in the rear end! I feel soo bad for my Dachsund. Is it normal for a male dog to penetrate a male dog rectally? I am getting an appt for him to be neutered, but not sure it will help him. I don't see him trying to dominate my dachsund and when he does it, it's when my poor dachsund is outside going potty. I am soo frustrated about this. Please help.

I take FiberTabs (little, chewable, candy-flavored fiber tablets) and I was eating them tonight.

I had one of them, in my hand, broken into quarters. One of the quarters of a tablet fell down, and my terrier-chihuahua mutt munched it up before I could get it out.

Each tablet has 2 grams of fiber. If she had half of a gram, that's nothing serious, right?
