Bring him to the vet right away, or at least call them and tell them about it, i watched some show a while back and this dog had the same thing except his was on the bottom inside of his mouth, and it was a type of tumer that had to be removed,CALL.....

I sounds like a Kanker sore which I've seen a dog get before. It could be nothing or it could be an allergy or he could have punctured his mouth with a chew... hard to say.

Keep an eye on it, if it gets worse, get it checked. Obviously.

9 months is round about a good age to have a larger breed fixed, If he/she is not done yet, ask the vet to check it when you bring him/her in.

I'm not sure what they are but i suggest instead of presuming it's not a cause to worry i think you should show him to a vet. I had a 9yr old yellow lab (Sandy Sunshine)....and he had bad breath. We really didn't think anything of it (Indigestion maybe) till he got really bad and we found out he had kidney failure. We lost him! :'(
