My puppy is almost eight months old. She has all of her "first" shots, but I don't know when she is due for booster shots. Is there a recomended guideline. I don't have a regular vet yet I have just been going to the local humane society or I would ask my vet.

I am still mixing dry and canned puppy food. How lond should I be doing this? Right now she is 11 weeks or so, a Yellow Lab. And how often would you feed her canned food anyway when she gets older? Thanx!!

Just asking all you dog owners why dont we eat dogs. I've seen them on crufts and they look real tasty. We eat sheep, cattle, chickens, fish, etc, etc. We should eat dogs!

We could have a range of restaurants and even fast food outlets, e.g. Mc Dogs and kentucky fried dogs. What do you think.

Do you think crufts is cruel? They say a Pekeniese's eyes can pop out because they are bred round for crufts.

I feel I've entered an elitist club I was previously unaware of. People say hello, smile and stop me in the street!

Aren't people wierd?

The incision itself is not showing any signs of oozing or bleeding, but it is swollen, kind of hard knot thing, and its a little warm, but when you touch it, it doesn't seem to bother her, and she is not acting weired or anything. Just wanted to know if anyone has had the same situation, and what you did, or how it turned out. Thanks

He eats quite alot, about 31/2-4 cups a day. and i was just wondering bc i heard lots of good things about Nutro, and i want to switch my Dobie. I looked at the site and i liked what they said, and i looked at the ingrediants, and liked them. So how much is it for about 10-15 pound bag of dog food?

Or if you recomend something else, tell me what and how much i can get it for?

Also right now I am feeding him Purina BUT I HATE IT! but thats the only one he likes! but now its too-bad! hes eating a good dog food bc im not making him anymore food to replace what hes missing! I do it once in a while, but I cant every day. Im just too-busy!

Thanks!

Why are there now so many commercials about Labradoodles? What's the big deal about a this kind of dog? When I was little we had a bunch of Lab/Poodle mixes. That is what they are, right?

Does it vary by breed? I know this question may seem dumb. But it has been a long time since I have had a puppy.

Thanks!

Is there a particular dog breed that is more happy to be left alone than average?

I would love a dog, but as I would be away from home from 7am to 5pm at least, the dog would spend a lot of time alone.

I am reasearching average prices on certain puppies and I was wondering what the average price was in a pet store; like in malls. I'd rather rescue a puppy, if they have what I am looking for, than pay a breeder double what I would in a store.

Does anyone know where I can buy Orijen dog food online. I live in Texas and although I have recommended to several shops that they carry it no one does. You can not order directly from the maker though. You have to be a distributor.

Where can I buy it.

She's a black lab/german shepherd mix about 9 months old. We have 2 females from the same litter, and she is the only one who does this. Shouldn't this not be an issue any longer?

Cyrus is a shep/doberman mix and has been the love of our family since we rescued him at the age of 15 months. I know it is time to make the decision to set him free from his old bones and failing systems. I also realize that I am being selfish in not being able to let him go. Please help me. He is my first and only dog and I feel like I will die without him, I have been disabled for the last few years and he has given me a reason to live. After all even if we are down in the dumps the pets still have to eat and go out. Any encouragement is welcomed, Thank you.

My beagle mix had to have her anal glands expressed about 1 or 2 weeks ago. They recommended that we bring her in every month since her's were pretty backed up. However, last night she was laying with me and when I got up there was a little wet spot that smelled very foul and was the same smell that we noticed prompting us to take her into the vet. Could she really have a problem with them again since she just had them expressed? Do you think this is an issue? I have owned other dogs and never did they have this odor/seepage/anal express thing! I feel bad for her. Since it reoccured so soon do you think she has a severe problem and should I call the vet?

I have a little potty area in my backyard that I take my dogs to do their business. Currently it's a little sand area. But a lot of sand keeps getting to our house even after wiping their feet.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something else to put down that would be less messy tracking in and that they would be willing to pee and poop on? I was thinking small pebbles, smooth ones but not sure they would go on there or if that would end up getting too dirty or smelly. I figured though I can wash them off with a hose?

Any suggestions or opinions please?

I was reading up on some reviews about Innova Evo, because I got my mom interested in feeding it to her Dobermans. Well, alot of the reviews I came across said that this food is recommended for large breeds because of the high protein content. But, some of the reviews were about owners feeding smaller breeds Innova Evo, like mini dacshunds, and a maltese. I have a Chihuahua and already ordered some for him. But, I am wondering if any of you have a small breed dog that is being fed Innova Evo, and if you are having any problems with them?...I am also getting a puppy Monday of next week and I ordered him some of the Innova small breed puppy food, so I know that will be alright for him. But, now I am not sure about my adult Chi that I am going to feed the Innova Evo to. Are any of you feeding your small dog Innova Evo and what are the ups and downs? Are there any problems with weight?

I have a four month old Japanese Chin (female) and her vet told me that she will weigh approx. 5 lbs at adulthood. She is very loving, doesn't bark, and isn't needy at all. She is the perfect pet, already potty trained and gets along great with other dogs. I keep tossing back and forth the idea of getting another pup so they can grow up together. I have a great work schedule that allows me to spend lots of time with her, but I know she misses the company of another dog. She plays with a shih-tzu occasionally and she loves him to death. They play so well together and I see how happy she is when shes with him. I'm just wondering if it's a good idea or not. If you do think it's a good idea, should I get another Japanese Chin or should I get another breed. The only breeds I'd consider would be small (7lbs and under). I like Yorkshire Terriers (very expensive though) and I like papillons. Also, since I have a female, should I get a male or another female.
