He will eat some and drink a little water, but cannot hold himself up long enough to potty or anything. I have a Vet. apt. later today. This was sudden, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? He was fine until this morning.

I have a 85 pound, tall/lean golden retriever- 2 1/2 years old. I think we give our dog too much water--- he pees on the floor occasionally and pees for AT least a minute when we bring him outside... My husband doesn't think we give him enough because our dog is always thursty.

Peppe, border collieX, is getting old. He is 15 yrs now. He's slowing down, can't get up and down the stairs easily, throws up often, and has a slight heart murmur. Just had him at the vet 2 months ago for yearly exam and vaccinations. The Vet is aware of all his current health issues. I'm scared to take him back to get his heart rechecked. He's not in pain and he is still interested in life and will go for short walks. I'm very worried the next vet visit will be the last.

we just bought a 5 week old female amstaff terrier... long story short, the couple we bought her from told us she was 10 weeks, then later sliped up and told up she was born Jan.31, making her only 5 weeks... we also have a 4 month old amstaff terrier, and he ADORES her! however, she antagonizes him to no end... biting, scratching, growling. then when shes tired she cuddles up to him to go to sleep... is it normal for a 5 week old to be so aggressive?? is this a sign that she will be an aggressive adult?? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

this is in an area where you cannot call the humane society because it is out of city limits.

if you complain about these people's dogs thay call the dog over and shoot it and put it into the back of the truck to rot

what should i do they own about 14 dogs

Last night while walking my doggies I saw a fella throwing a ball for his dog on a field at the end of the street. Beside this field is a main road and when it was clear of traffic this fella sometimes threw the ball that way instead. A couple of times the dog missed the ball and had to chase further up the street for it, fortunately a car appeared only once. But even so, isn't that very irresponsible? I've seen him do it once before but I just thought he'd made a mistake when letting go of the ball and it had gone the wrong way. Would I be arrested if I slapped his stupid face? I didn't mean that of course, but I could be tempted.

This is a follow-up to a previous question. The vet told me that most dogs are defensive at the vet but ours was on the offensive. She said we should re-evaluate keeping him as our pet.

My 1 year old dog is part chow and german shepard and has a slight temper. He is very loveable to people and LOVES to be outside but can easily pull the chain out of the ground and if I tie it any where else he either jumps the fence or slips out of his collar or hangs himself. The pound has been called on him several times and luckily has not taken him away from me. Whenever he gets out of the backyard he terrorizes the dogs next door, barks at my neighbors and scares them and fights with the little dog next door. I have never seen him bark at my neigbors or charge at them but they say he has. I have also been threatened on several occasions by his bad behavior and been threatened to have to come home to a dead dog. Should I keep him or give him away to the pound? By the way, does those invisible fences really work?

I have a 11 week old Dachshund with a lower abdominal hernia. The vet is wanting to do spay and surgery at the same time and is talking about upping the spay date when she is 4 months old. Oppinions? Does anyone think this is unsafe? I would appreciate any experiences with hernias in dogs and honest oppinions.

We found a puppy in our driveway. We have tried to find the owner, no luck. My fiance wants to keep her, I don't . She is very destructive, she has torn up my furniture, she tears everything up. If we leave her out back, she gets out of the yard, and runs around. I have 3 children, and 3 cats, the last thing i want is another animal to take care of, and i am the one that cleans everything up. When we crate her, she acts totally crazy, when she finally gets out, i don't blame her.
I do not want the dog, so i am the bad guy. He wants the dog, and i have to replace, everything the dog tears up. (She has tons of toys and bones, and doggy chews.) Has anyone else been through something similar, that can tell me what was worked out. How do you compromise on something like this?
And she is already about 6 months old and weighs around 40 pounds, she is going to be big. Also, when she is outside, she kills all of the birds in our yard, and eats them.

I have a 6 month old lab mix puppy. We normally feed her Canidae dry food, which she seems to like. Every two weeks or so we'll give her Canidae canned food, and she LOVES this. How often should we be feeding her canned food? I know it's higher in water content, so we shouldn't feed her canned food too often. Thanks!
