how far along is she? a dog is pregnant for 63 days. if you can tell then she must be fairly close. I would do one prenatal visit with the vet. they may ask for exray's or sono you can disagree as I have waited money on them in the past. money would be better spent on an inexpensive stethscope. The puppies heart beets are faster then the mom's . That way you can tell when all the pups are out. check ebay for a used one. feed good food. you will find she is very hungry the last few weeks. let her eat as much as she wants. Get her a welping bed ready. They usually like a box just big enough with clean bedding in it. have extra bedding ready for after the birth to change it. Will be glad to help if you need. I am expecting litter in 13 days. Need to get my box and bedding ready. you can contact me if you like with any questions. shelly6383@yahoo.com No spammers only this person has permision to contact me. congradulations now we wait for the happy day.

I'm no professional but I have a LOT of experience. When my dogs are pregnant, I feed them dry puppy food. Then, in the last few weeks, I feed them they dry puppy food mixed with half a can of puppy food, and give it to her three times a day, but over do it! You don't want to get her fat, just want to make sure she gets those extra vitamines and minerals to have healthy puppies and lots of milk. My Shcnauzer had eight, my lab had 13, and my dalmation had 11, and every puppy was born healthy, with no deaths!

Then Have a vet on standby... Be willing to spend the buck.. If you don't know what you are doing then you should have at least invested in a book prior to letting a mixed breed dog get pregnant... lawdy lue
are you going to call them something fancy?? we now have labradoodle.. snickerpoos.. etc = ect blah- blah- blah on down the line.... lol
we used to call them mutts and heinze 57er's.
So many dogs getting killed everyday even by PETA..
WHY=???

Just make sure where the mother goes to have her pups is clean and sanitized. She will take care of the rest. You'll need to bring them to the vet and have them dewormed and given their first shots also. Call up your local vet and find out when they should recieve these. Most pups are born with worms so thats why the vet gives meds for them to take.

I always used pedigree and dog vitamins
powdered milk mixed in is good too and cheaper
once they are born, give the mom vitamins for sure and they do make puppy formula for them if needed

feed mom puppy chow before birthing and while nursing because she needs the extra nutrition (a vet suggestion).
make her a breeding box with lots of newws paper in it and when she is done, replace paper with old blankets, towels or anything soft for teh babies. Give her and pups privacy often or she might think YOU will care for the babies instead of her.
Watch for any signs of dehydration while she is nursing (she can get depleted) and please make sure you have her and pups vet checked if you are unsure.
DO NOT give pups away (or sell) before they are 8 weeks old (not 6) because they do need that long to mature enough to be taken away..
