papillion is of french origin known as the butterfly dog because from the back when they have there ears up they resemble a butterfly.usual colours black/white or tan/white a small toy dog can be very loving but territorial they have an unusual way of passing water by walking on there front legs and spraying but they can be taught to do it a more conventional way, very intelligent, and tends to be a one person dog hope this helps.

I have a shiba and my dad raises them. He has a website on them and also japanese akitas. if you look up japanese akitas and shibas there are some good pics for your report. But all info on the standards would be best described by AKC website.
