I have a 2 year old dog who we have had since she was a puppy. Over the last 4 months or so she has became aggresive. This past few weeks she has just gotten worse and worse. My husband and I left for a week, my dog and my kids went to my parents house. This is a place she has been a million times. Well my moms little rat terrier was walking aross the yard and my dog attacked her, and just started trying to kill her. Well we came home and she put her teeth on my 2 year old, she didnt bite but looked her down. Today my husband calls me and she attacked one of my cats. I dont know what started it off but she grabbed her and started to shake him all over the place. I am at the end of my rope, I love my dog, but i love my kids more. What should I do?

My older Husky is about 4 1/2, and was the Alpha female out of her litter. I kept the Alpha female out of my dogs litter and she has really over-dominated her mother. My dog can't even hardly eat her food, without her daughter growling at her and pushing her out of the way. In the beginning my dog wouldn't cower down to her, but after awhile she just kinda acted like she was tired of fighting back and just gives her daughter free reign of their yard. My husband told me the same thing happens in a pack of wolves: that even if a dog is the alpha of the group, if another alpha comes into the pack (even if it is the dogs offspring), then the new alpha will just take over and the old alpha will submit to the new one. Is this true? Should I just let the 2 of them settle their own dominance issues?

We have a 3 year old pitt bull, we keep her in our fenced in back yard, she has never gotten out. she has killed cats, squrrils or other small critters that have gotten inthe yard.
My daughter has a 11 week old husky that also stays in the back yard. this weekend I was awaken by our neighbor asking me if our dog was in the yard, that she thought it had gotten out and killed her little dog. I didnt see my dog at that time since i was running toward the house next door thinking my dog was there. Her dog had been attacked, when I went back to my house to see how they could have gotten out my dog was there but the puppy was gone, the only hole I found was a 4x4 hole in the back fence my pitt is about 80lbs. My question is it possible my pitt got out that hole for the first time in 3 years, went two houses down attacked a dog and returned back home thru the same hole?
the puppy was found 2 hours later coming from across the hiway on the other side

I have a pitmix named Marvin that is 4 months old. He was found when he was 3 weeks old abandoned in a park and I've been fostering him since ( soon to complete adoption papers). Nobody knows what he is mixed with and since he is only 4 monnths old it may be hard to tell still, so if anybody has any suggestions, i would love to hear them.

We have a golden retriever mix that we adopted from a shelter when she was about 1-2 years old. She is a great dog except that she will run away whenever given the chance. She does very well while on the leash but as soon as she senses freedom, she bolts. Any suggestions?

We have a 4 1/2 month old Lab mix who has recently started acting aggressive with my husband and I. I know she is a puppy and puppies chew, but when she starts chewing on us we tell her no, when we tell her no she starts jumping at us and growling and biting harder. She also growls at us when we take her off the couch to go to bed. It is quite a mean growl and it's starting to scare me. We have enrolled her in obedience classes and they start tonight. Should we be concerned and should we be doing anything differently? Also we do not physically punish her, we put her in "time out" for 2-5 minutes when we can get control of her while biting/growling. Help!!!!

Since showing your dog and making them "a champion" is typically a step before breeding, what would someone do if their show dog was in heat at the time of the show? Obviously, the male show dogs wouldn't be fixed for the same reason (to be declared a champion and ideal in their breed, then bred later) and it would drive them nuts. Would they just not attend?

I want to add that I do NOT have a show dog, don't have any intent of showing any dogs- I don't even have a female dog. I'm just curious.

I have had my dog Lucky for about 4 years now and I love her so much. I treat her just like a kid and spoil her rotten. So here's the problem. I became disabled and because of it poor. Each month I barely have enough to buy my own medication and that is with help. About a year ago Lucky started getting sick. I thought it was allegries and took her to see the mobile vaccine vet. He gave her a predisone shot and for a couple days things looks better and she acted like her old self. But she has just progressivly gotten worse. Its so bad now that she is biting herself and refusing to eat. I feel horrible because I cannot afford medical care for her anymore. I have contacted all the vets in this area and none will offer a reduced fee. One offered a payment plan but the payments were too high. I don't want my baby to die and so I know that I must give her up. I feel like such a bad person. Am I doing the right thing?

I kept my dogs separated in different fenced kennels on my property, but I recently built a fence around a larger area to put my 2 female Siberian Huskies in. I had thought to put my sons adult Border Collie in this larger fenced area, but as soon as I did, the 3 females started attacking each other. I quickly removed my sons dog, and the other 2 went back to normal. Is there no way to introduce these 3 dogs into the same yard, without them attacking each other?

Does anyone know of a website where I can make a memorial for my dog who passed away on the 2nd. I would like to be able to post text, and pictures. I prefer to use a pet loss site or something similar to that. Like dogster type site?

I have found some but they have a text restriction.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Owners immediately go pick up dog at groomers & take him to the vet. They do not find dog very lively .The vets lays dog down & he starts bleeding at the mouth & asks them what happened the dog is bleeding internally he doesn't have much chance do they want him to try & save him .yes of course but the dog passes away before he can do anything .What could of possibly happened at the dog groomers .The 4 month old cocker spaniel had seen the vet the day before & had a perfect bill of health .
