I have Dobermans... The most loyal, loving, dogs with an excellent sense of humour! VERY smart... Not a dog for everyone.. If you don't want someone following you where ever you go, don't get a Doberman!

When I was a teen we had a Chocolate and Rust Dobbie, named Cane. He was awesome. He was tossed or jumped out of a car on the highway infront of our house and he came to the home, our other dog chased him into the tree and he was crying for help. He was a great great companion. His only vice was he chased the horses, we did everything we could to teach him to stop, but when he was 2 he was kicked and killed.
When I got older and started working for our local humane society, there was a drug raid and 7 Dobermans, 2 pitts, 3 rotts, and a couple mixes were seized at the property. There were 2 blue and fawns that were 5 month olds. I took one to foster because he had a bad skin infection and allergies. I Named him Powder. He was the best puppy ever. I wished I could have kept him, but I had so many dogs as it was. He is the best dog for his new owners and they love him to death. I get christmas cards from them with his pictures every year. What a beautiful boy.

hi!
i just read your post.i own a mini pincher and i was just checking the difference between the two races mostly in their temperament. mine is very cheaky very playfull, but also extremetely protective over me and extremely loyal. she s our bodyguard. the most funny thing is she a peace maker. i have another dog, 3 yr old who loves to get into fights with other female dogs. she will always get in the middle and after the fight she will try to punish my other dog ( by barking, slightly biting her) its so funny. the only problem i have with her that still after two years some times she forgets the rules of the house and secondly she s soooooo scared of needles.
anyways
thats all for now

I have never owned a Dob but a friend of mine growing up had two of them. There names were Lulu and Boopers. I loved those two dogs, they were so wonderful. Every morning when I stayed at her house they both woke me up by whining at the door to be let into her room. She would always tell them to go away and I would always let them in. It has been 17 years since then and I can honestly say I still miss the both of them.

I owned a red dobie a long time ago.Her name was Felicia, I had her for 3 years and then my hubby wanted to breed her(for a blue) and I agreed. They stole my dog and said she ran away.6foot fence and she ran away.3 weeks later we found her about 1/2 a block from my house, all cut up and skinny, and very dead.Sad and I decided I would never get another one like her, so I never have tried to.They are so smart and really gentle to the ones that are their family..Great dogs, I haven't thought of her for a while, thanks....
