she will not be an adult until closer to two years. depending on her hieght and weight she can start adult food as early as a year and 1/2 but puppy food is very important for large breed dogs. with out the puppy food for 1 year to 2 years of age the bones and joints will not develop properly.

The puppy stage sets the foundation for a dog’s whole life. The length of this period can vary – for large breed dogs (dogs that should weigh 50 lbs or more full grown), the rule of thumb is two years. For all other dogs, one year is the rule.

Large breed dogs mature much slower than smaller breeds - and physical and mental maturity are different. As a trainer, though your Lab is at an adult SIZE, she is still a puppy mentally (going into adolescence) and must be treated as such (you expect different things from young and adult dogs).

Large breed dogs (yes your dog is in that group) are considered puppies until 2ish BUT size wise they're mostly full grown by the time they're 1.
Small dogs are considered full grown (behavior and size) at 1.

well she will not be full grown until she is around two. and some people believe full grown= adult - other people believe that the puppy name gets dropped at a year. it is just a personal preference.

Bigger dogs take longer to become fully grown and mature. A labrador will take up to 2.5 years to be fully grown, so yes, your dog is still a puppy.
