Just asking all you dog owners why dont we eat dogs. I've seen them on crufts and they look real tasty. We eat sheep, cattle, chickens, fish, etc, etc. We should eat dogs!
We could have a range of restaurants and even fast food outlets, e.g. Mc Dogs and kentucky fried dogs. What do you think.

But I have to agree, I would eat dog, especially with all the endangered animals being eaten. We have too many dogs in the world!

It's normal to eat dog in some parts of the world, but not here in the US. I, believe it's illegal to sell dog meat here as well.
Truth is, there are so many varieties of meat available for people in the US that I really don't see a need to add dog or cat to the list. In parts of the globe where eating dog is acceptable; it may have started when that was one of the only available meats.

Just the thought of chowing down on my little pet makes me sick. We dont eat dogs in this country because we have them as pets. I guess your next question is going to be "why dont we eat homeless people" because we have so many of them too. Move out of the country if you really want to eat a dog. If not, i am sure you can jsut stop by your local chinese food store, there are always rumors that they serve dogs and cats.

In countries like Asia Dog is a delicacy. But culturally I haven't heard of anyone in the USA eating one.
I don't know what creeps me out about this question more: You asking dog owners why don't we dogs, or the whole question itself. If you're so curious, why don't you cook your dog and let us know.

I have no objection to eating dogs as long as they are well-treated before killing. We eat pigs which are easily as intelligent as dogs and which lots of people keep as pets.
Incidentally, Seaman Staines should realise that horses are eaten in most of Europe. Horse steak is just fine. What counts is the life that an animal gets, not what happens to its corpse.
P.s. I also have a dog. She is like one of the family and not likely to find herself on the menu.

The reason I don't eat dog is that to get nice tasting meat you generally need to really mistreat the animals - something that doesn't happen with chicken and cows.
p.s. I have had a dog as a pet. He was an alsation called Major.

disgusting ...and very cruel i love my dogs more than anything meat only looks tasty once cooked i dont look at sheep and think ooo tasty....seriously dogs and cats r not meant to be eaten their pets, move to asia where sick people do that!

If some of your critics could see the low standards of welfare on some of the farms then they would have something to complain about.

we don't eat dog's or cats in the UK...but i would not put it past some of the curry houses in rusholme.....
