There is a rescue going on in Engelwood Florida as we speak.
Almost 5 weeks ago a puppy mill rescue named Annie, a small female Bichon Frise, bolted from her foster mom while out on a walk near a wildlife sanctuary that is replete with alligators, panthers and turkey buzzards. Until last week she still had her pink leash attached to her collar.
There are volunteers who site her daily and who have come as close to her as two feet.
They have tried everything, tranq darts, weighted nets, humane traps, singing, food, you name it.
They were able to dart her once but lost her in the brush.
They need a gps dart, which they have been told may run up to $3000, and the SmallPaws Rescue organization just can't pony up that kind of money.
If anyone out there can loan this direly needed piece of equipment to this effort please contact Robin (the head of the rescue and she is at the site now) at pup3@aol.com or contact her through www.smallpawsrescue.org
Thank you for any help
