At first I didn't know there was other allegry meds I could take to help with my dog.And that was the only reason I gave her up.Then I told to call the doctor about meds for me for allegrys. And the lady I know that has her. They took her to there vet and had her spayed and a couple of shots. The other owner told them it was ok, she would let me have my dog back. Now the vet says they have a contract with the humane society to not let me have the dog back. I am now a emotional wreck, and I visited my dog at the vet today and love her so much. And really want her back.

He is coming from a dependable breeder who has raised him in the house with his litter as well as a beagle. i have not visited the breeder because i live in NC and she lives in MI and does not ship her dogs so we are meeting in OH at a time we both will be there. Frankly i am getting cold feet after reading all these messages! i have had dogs and cats all my life, but somehow this time seems different and i am taking it seriously. i work at home so the dog will be with me at most times. Any suggestions or help??

My dog penny just got out of the vet hospital on Saturday.
She had the coronavirus and was treated for 4 days at the hospital. She did fine for 2 days then on Tuesday morning at 4am she vomited 2 times. After that she was fine, eating and playing all evening long. On wednesday morning at 2am the same thing happened again. This time she vomited 4 times and then layed down. I have to take her to the vet tomorrow to get her shots but I am concerned about her having the virus again. What do You Think?

When would it be safe to bring another puppy on my property & home after loosing a new puppy to Parvo? I've bleached what I could in the house but the yard is infected. Also, is there something I could use on the yard to kill any lingering virus's?

Why does everyone complain about the oder of urine from dogs in the dirt in there yard and on there porch or garage? They have to go to the bathroom somewhere. It is suppose to be outside. A dog may pee on your tire every now and then but most of the time its in the yard--WHERE they are suppose to go. How did all these people get so nice nasty? I have 4 dogs , all house broke. They pee and poop in the yard...WHERE they are supposed to go. You need to clean the poop because if theres too, much in high heat it does stink as well as people step in it.But URINE ? Come on. It will rain and you want smell it. Its OUTSIDE,in a large area. The smell is not that strong.Especally in dirt.
Get a GRIP...............Next you people will be making laws to make the poor dog wear a pee bag...so it can be disposed of in the toilet...

i live in a sub-tropical region, my dog has long droopy ears and is prone to ear infections. she gets it every week and a half. The vets have given us ear medicine, but she hates it and dosn't seem to work. normally i find that over time the infection cures itself, rather than going away with medication.

are there any home remedies to cure dog's mild ear infection?

My 2 dogs (a pug and a pug/french bulldog mix) currently eat Canidae for all life stages. I'm considering switching them to Innova EVO. All of a sudden I am hearing negative effects of high protein diets (more than 20 - 25%.. innova EVO is 42%). Such as increased aggression, kidney problems, etc. Have any of you heard this? Or have any experience with it?

NOTE: My dogs are exercised to an average extent, but are not extremely active (not working dogs, etc. obviously). We have walks/playtimes during the week, and visits to the dog park for 2 - 3 hours every weekend. They keep each other very occupied and play for about 3 hours per day. but nothing extreme in the way of activity/exercise

Our dog is getting old and when she goes to doggy heaven I want to get a new one right away, esp. for the kids.
But I have bad allergies. I want to do the research on this now so I know just what to get when the time comes.
Any good ones?

I have a beautiful blue pit bull. She is muscular and weighs 87 lbs. She is very sweet and loving towards people but very wary when it comes to other dogs. She'll stop walking when she sees another dog at the park. She'll stare at the dog until the other dog goes away. Most dogs get bad vibes from her - they growl and bark. I never let her lose at the dog park for fear that she will attack another dog.

My friend just got a 6-month puppy from the local shelter. They told her he is a sharpei/lab mix but I just saw him and if he's a lab, I'll eat my hat. I'm pretty sure he is a pitbull mix. He's very muscular (i've never seen a stronger puppy) and a little aggressive. She is planning on training him, but I am worried about having a pitbull from unknown parentage around a little girl. I've known well-bred pitbulls that were sweet and gentle, but I also know that a lot of pitbulls in my local area are bred for aggression and fighting. What should I tell her?

Any pros or cons to which one I should inquire about? Does anyone happen to know a range of pricing off hand? Is it in the hundreds or thousands? Just thought maybe I could get a better feel for things prior to making the call!

I know there are atleast 2 unneutered males in my class but they are small. I'm not fixing my dog because we want to breed her. These dogs are all highly trained. Will the males go crazy if I bring her? I wouldn't let them get near her. These classes are expensive and she already has missed the past 2 'cause I was ill.

I know chocolate is not one of the safe foods but I also know that meat with preservatives and canned food is dangerous.

The question is... Is Alpo and Pedigree safe for dog consuption or is it filled with preservatives and not good for dog consumption. If it's bad... how can I change my dogs diet so that he lives longer.

Just Recently I found out that canned food is bad because it is filled with preservatives... I have never given my dog that. But if Alpo is bad... I'm one big sucker for the greedy dog food companies... I have been giving my dog rice with cooked chicken(the ones we humans eat) for dinner every other day so it's not pellet food all the time.

Thank you if you answered. I greatly appreciate it.

It was a cheapy one for $3 that like screws in and out to adjust the pitch. I don't know if it works. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. They had a more expensive one that looked like a gym teacher's whistle, should I have gotten that? I'm trying to teach my dogs to come when they run off without screaming and disturbing my neighbors. Where would be a good place to purchase one? I just bought this at a Paw Mart.

A male dog always wizzed on my wood porch before I moved here, and he still does at times... the smell is BAD, I poured bleech, amonia, vinegar, pinesol.. everything... nothing kills the smell. Short of getting a new porch and 'eliminating' the dog, how do I get rid of this awful smell? =0( I can't open my windows or sit outside because the smell is so bad...
