Well yesterday i picked up a Free Boxer/ Pittbull/ Chow mut and todays the first day ive had him , the breeder says that the pups are 8 weeks old but i dont know for sure , early when i came by the pups where playing and everything else , when i came back later they where all laying down so i picked up a brown one.

Last night was the first time ive had her and she would whine everytime i would walk away from her witch i think is normal for a pup that has just got taken away from there mother. I had her laying on my chest as i was laying down to and she started to shake and whimper violently , it scared me so i woke her up, i dont what to make of it ??
The puppy also shakes alot and doesnt seem very active , i try to wave her over or when i put her down outside she walks about 1 - 2 steps and lays down

I know the Menu Foods recall was just for wet foods, but has the dry food been tested? I had bought a huge bag of Nutro Ultra before the recall, and am still feeding it to my dogs. Should I switch? They are half way through with the bag and they are not showing any symptoms of illness, would they by now?

I know PeTA is asking for a recall of dry foods, but, while I think PeTA is a valuable organization, sometimes I think they over react??

What should I do? What are others doing with their dry foods?!?

I have a dog and have had her for about 7 years and I haven't taken her to the vet, only when we first got her. I was too young and my Auntie/Uncle (i live with them) wouldnt bring her. Now that I'm older and can afford to pay the bills and take her for a long over-due check up, will I be in any sort of trouble? She has no physical issues, but will I get in trouble for not being able to take her?
Also I have another dog with eye problems (Very common for his breed) his Eye Lashes go in his eye. When he was younger we brought him to the vet but I don't know what happened. If I bring him, and they find out it's been like that for about 3 years will I get in trouble?
My Auntie/Uncle wouldn't take them and I couldn't afford too, now that I can I am taking them. So any sort of trouble happening on my part?

I've been a little down on my luck and have eaten a few helpings of Purina puppy chow. I thought that was bad enough but now I've seen where dogs and cats are getting sick from eating tainted dog food?

What are the symptoms? I've had an erection for the last day..is that a symptom?

I have a medium sized Border Collie who's 3 years old. We've almost always had him on dry dog food. We tried Nutro canned (meat with gravy) a few times before (before the recall), but he would get really stinky gas.

He started out on dry Science Diet (that's what they were feeding him at the shelter), but he got tired of that, and we moved onto Beneful. I had always thought it was healthy, but now I know I was wrong. We've recently switched to "The Goodlife Recipe" and he loves it. On the bag, it says there are no fillers or preservatives, made with real beef or chicken (depending on flavor), and is 100% nutritionally balanced. However, after the pet food recall with wet food, of which some brands were supposed to be good for dogs, I find I'm having a hard time trusting dog food companies.

Can anyone recomend a DRY dog food brand that they know is good (and feed their own dog with it)? Does anyone know if the "Goodlife Recipe" is, in fact, healthy? Thanks!

A few weeks ago I asked opinions on the best complete dog food for my blue merle collie. I got some great answers and my dog now eats James Wellbeloved (although he doesn't exactly wolf it down). However, I've been speaking to a dog trainer on some issues I have with the dog and his behaviour. She said James Wellbeloved is quite high in protein and could be making him a bit hyper. So I need to ask if anyone knows of a healthy complete meal that is low in protein?

My puppy is 6 months old and we got her from a shelter at 1 month. She is a complete mix and was very naughty when we got her but is now calming down. We thought it would be good to get her spayed early but she was very poorly after the op an dis obsessing over her stitches and now the weeing problem has started again which we thought we had solved. I think she likes to attention seek and be the boss!

I have taken the boundry spray stuff to everything and he will still go where ever he is. I have put him in a cage to see if he will bark to go outside and nothing he just goes in the cage. HELP I don't know if I need to take him in to the vet to see it he has health issues.

I have had a doberman for 4 years and a min-pin for 3 years. I'm expecting my first baby in a few months. I need to know if they are going to be okay with it and be gentle around it. They are both so hyper all the time and needy for attention and I'm worried that they won't understand what is going on and be jealous. Please give me some input.

Yeah I get it they're mutts big deal. When I was a kid I had a Lab and german sheppard mix it didn't make any less loving, I think the fact that people have branded them Designer breeds is why you hear so many people bashing the dogs and the owners. I have had my little guy for about six months and he is the perfect little man, he is smart he was house broken very quickley he doesn't chew the place apart he just likes hanging out with dad watching tv and going for jogs.

We took her to the vet, and he examined her from head to toe and said it was a seizure but she is fine now, he said it could have been a one time thing, and didn't give any meds or anything and said she is in perfect health. How can a dog in perfect health just have a seizure for no reason. I am a little worried, but he said she's ok. Has anyone heard of this before??
