make your voice light, high, happy and say "GOOD BOY/GIRL! GOOD DOG!"

that's praise

praise your dog every time they do something good or obey. that's how you train them. if they do something bad say "no" firmly and don't give them attention.

After your dog has done something good, you must show your good feelings. They truly understand. Praise would be , good boy with a hug and sweet words that express your pleasure with what they have done. A dog seeks your praise And really enjoys it. It's kind of like when you were little and your mom put your drawing on the refrigerator and told you how good it was.

The same way it encouraged you to do more your dog will also be encouraged.

Good luck

You tell him "what a good boy!" or "good boy" much like you would a child in an excited/approving voice. Maybe then pet him and possibly give him a treat. Praise him when he has done something you approve of - such as sitting on command or walking great on his leash. You must respond immediately because they have short memories and even a minute later telling him "good boy" will be completely lost on him.

Good luck.

Praising is giving a complement to.

For example: If you tell your dog to stay and he does, you would 'praise' him by saying things like:

Good Dog!
Wonderful!

This will let the dog know that his good behavior was received well, and help with training.

It's also used for positive reinforcement. :)

To praise a dog is to encourage him after doing correct and good things-- tell him or her hes a good dog etc... pet him give him treats.... and you praise a dog when they have done something good or that you want them to, it is used mostly in training or teaching tricks!

When they say praise your dog,it just means to make a good fuss over his doing something you expect him to do .Like teaching him to sit..Say sit...! If he does you in a sweet excited voice say good dog..That was good.Your so good....ect.......
Your just letting the dog know that the action pleased you.

You give them (without trying to believe the dog understands english) physical praise by your actions and tone of voice. Dogs react to excitement positively, and to harsh tones and gestures negatively, which makes owners believe that the dog understands them, this isn't true, its the emotion they are reacting to.

Praise for a dog just means a higher pitch voice saying something positive. Say you give a command to "sit". Dog sits. Then you say, in a higher pitched voice, "Good puppy!" That's it.

Praise means telling him he is good(actually saying it to him out loud in a happy voice) when he is good or when he does something right

to "praise "is to say something nice about someone to their face

Praise is one of those words that has a wide range of meaning, depending on the context in which it is being used. For instance, for a Christian, they praise God. It means to give him the highest level of thanks and gratitude that they can. For a person to give praise to their child, or to their pet, it means to let them know that they have done something good.

–noun
* the act of expressing approval or admiration; commendation; laudation.
* the offering of grateful homage in words or song, as an act of worship: a hymn of praise to God.
* the state of being approved or admired: The king lived in praise for many years.

–verb (used with object)
* to express approval or admiration of; commend; extol.
* to offer grateful homage to (God or a deity), as in words or song.
