7 weeks is too old to have a tail docked.Tails should be done when the pup is only days old. At this point it would be considered an amputaion and would be quite painful for the pup. Personally, I love the look of Boxers with tails and natural ears.

You should have done your research as to when this is supposed to take place & unfortunately the people you bought the pup from did not dock it at the right time if it were to be done... as mentioned before, too late now. Your vet will probably advise you of the same thing. Imagine someone nipping off one of your fingers at the base... that's what it amounts to.
Your dog will still be a great dog, no worries!
My Boxer had his tail docked as a tiny pup, but we decided not to dock his ears & everyone loves the way he looks.

Tails are typically docked by the age of 3 days with a quick snip & a stitch. Now it is considered "surgery".

You'll notice no one so far has answered your question - this may irritate you. If so, please consider for a moment the reason why people have done this. Tail docking is pointless!

It's too late to dock the tail. And why do it? Now you're looking at major surgery. Leave the tail alone please.
