He has just turn 1 year old in January and he's been shedding a lot! What should I do to prevent him from shedding so much? Does his diet has anything to do with it?

I have a 10 week old puppy that just suddenly became very ill. She is very lethargic and glassy eyed. She was doing just fine last night. Now she can hardly walk and she is vomiting and defecating a milky, mucous like substance that has small streaks of blood in it. She won't eat but she is still drinking. I can't afford to take her to the vet right now. All the vets around here what the money up front. Any suggestions? I have her seperated from her litter mates and my other pets right now. Is this a good idea.

My puppy is a mutt and we think he may be part chow. He had mange, so we took him to the vet and they gave him all his shots. That was about a month ago and we now know that he and all of our other animals are definitely free of mange. He is about 15 weeks old. A few weeks ago he started losing his giant puff of puppy fur. He started losing his fur around his eyes and we weren't too concerned about it. Now he has lost his fur (not completely) everywhere up to just under his eyes. Why is this? Is he just losing his puppy fur? Or is it something more serious?

I am not letting her hair grow out to be floor length (although I am not sure if it will get that long since she is a mix) so how often should I take her to get a puppy cut?

My 1 year old lab/shep/husky cross will roll over on his back and pee all over himself everytime myself or my boyfriend try to get after him for something he knows he shouldn't do.

For example: The dog decided to chew on the wall and moulding, which he has been reprimanded for before. After finding a peice of chewed up trim in the other room, my boyfriend took him to where he did it and started telling him no. The dog just rolled over and peed all over himself. My BF wasn't yelling or being aggressive, just firmly showing him and saying no....

What can be done to stop this?

She's in her first year. We let her out to get plenty of exercise. She plays well with our other dogs. Runs ALOT. But whenever she's left alone, she DESTROYS everything she can. Electric cords, tears pillows, comfortors. etc... There's got to be something that I'm missing here. I've even tried setting her down and talking to her to no avail... ?HELP?

I have huskies and my male dogs are always after my female even when she isn't in heat. They start mounting her and once last year one actually raped her, for lack of better term, and she wasn't in heat yet. A few weeks/month later she finally did come in heat and she did in fact breed with the males several several times. She ended up not getting pregnant that year. She is around 5 years old and they are about 1 1/2 years old so I am wondering did that "rape" have anything to do with it and most importantly IS IT OK FOR THE MALES TO MOUNT THE FEMALES BEFORE THEY COME IN HEAT OR SHOULD I SEPARATE THEM EACH TIME OR KEEP THEM APART (they usually are just when i let them out to play). The female usually will block the male, I know this, but he made it happen that once. They are AKC Siberian Huskies and my family breeds them for shows/competitors.

I have a cocker spaniel, and the first few years we had him he was fine, but for the past year he's been chewing his paws or tail until the fur is gone, and then he starts to bled. I doubt age has anything to do with it but he's 7 years old. We got an allergy test from our vet and he's 3 away from living in a bubble. We changed his diet, and that seemed to help for a time. We even changed the shampoo that we used, but nothing seems to work anymore. My family and I check his paws regularly to make sure theres no dirt but we don't find anything out of the ordinary, does anyone have any advice for me?

I am watching my friend's dog and noticed that her right side of her mouth is really swollen. She won't let me look at her mouth keeps licking. I took her to the vet and she wouldn't let him look either. So now the Vet is going to give her anesthesia and take a look. I think it might be an infected tooth, any ideas? I am really worried, especially because I am puppy sitting?

She is a really active dog and has a nice build but she's quite small. I would like to bulk her up a little. I heard that giving them hamburger meat was good to add fat and muscle. Is this true and how should it be served, cooked? Raw?

Our lab is very friendly but licks way too much.my daughter is his height so she gets licked in the face all of the time. if your sitting or laying on the chair/couch he'll lick hands/face.if you bend over to do anything and you think he not in the room its like a radar goes off and you will get licked. its getting very annoying and most guests hate it. any realistic ideas or suggestions woud be great.we have tried saying no livk when he does it to no avail.
