He has just turn 1 year old in January and he's been shedding a lot! What should I do to prevent him from shedding so much? Does his diet has anything to do with it?

Not much you can do except brush the dog to keep shedding to a minimum. Nothing to fret over. And don't worry about the smart comment from someone because some dogs shed very very very little.

Has he shed beforehand? it might be his shedding season. If he didn't shed so much previously, it might be the food. you need to check his diet. if it is the diet that is causing it, change his food. if his diet is healthy it should either be the shedding season or skin disease.

This is the time of year that dogs shed their winter coat, when it turns to spring. Brush him every day, so his coat doesn't get matted.

There's no need to be sarcastic, it's probably a kid with her first dog.

Most dogs shed, except for a select few who only shed a teeny bi.(bichons, poodles, schauzers, lhasa apsos, and a few others) I don't know why you are surprised.
