Any ideas on how to stop a dog from licking people?

Our lab is very friendly but licks way too much.my daughter is his height so she gets licked in the face all of the time. if your sitting or laying on the chair/couch he'll lick hands/face.if you bend over to do anything and you think he not in the room its like a radar goes off and you will get licked. its getting very annoying and most guests hate it. any realistic ideas or suggestions woud be great.we have tried saying no livk when he does it to no avail.

licking is a natural behavior. By standards of a dog, your dog is not licking too much, got to be thankful its not biting. Suggestion wise is a sharp NO or noise to get the dogs attention when shes doing it. Then follow up with praise. Though to try to stop a natural behavior such as licking is very difficult. If the guest doesnt like it then you need to be good to the guest and keep her away.

Try taking some pennies and put them in a coffee can or something metal with a lid. Shake the can when your dog does something undesirable and a firm NO.

Never say "Fluffy, No" Only use your dogs name as a reward. Be sure to reward him when he is good too. Like when you have guest and he doesn't lick all over them, tell him "Good Fluffy" and give him a treat.

there is a product at pet stores "bitter apple spray" (not sure on the exact name). You spray it on bandages for wounds your dog gets so that they dont lick/chew the bandages off. But you can spray it on anything you dont want your dog's mouth to touch. I used it on my hands because our dog would nibble our hands constantly. Basically it tastes horrible, and after a couple times you dog wont want to taste it anymore. Im not sure I would spray it on anyones face though, the though of bitter apple flavor in someones eyes doenst sound fun. Maybe just your daughters cheecks. Vinegar might work too, but the spray doenst have a horrible smell.
