Its my yorkies birthday today, i was just wondering if it is safe to feed him a nonfrosted cupcake(duncan hines)? I am very strict with him about eating table food, he never does and hes not over weight and healthy. But since its a special occasion i thought letting him eat a cupcake might not do any harm since its only once. Its a stawberry flavored cake.

We have a German Shepherd who is pregnant. This is her second litter but her first with us. We are expecting the puppies in about 12 days. However, today she has started following me around more than usual. She is also panting alot. I know this is a sign of labor but she shouldnt be having her pups yet. She was with our male before we saw them mate...but would they mate again if she was already pregnant? I am just worried that there is something wrong. She is eating as normal. We have the whelping box ready, but she isnt in it...she is just following me. If you have any ideas of what could be going on please let me know!

Ok i have a big back yard but it's taken up with a huge deck. So really I have a very small area for a dog. I want a big dog, but I'm sure if it'll be able to run around and be happy in this backyard. Do you have any suggestions for what kind of dog I should get?

I took my 5 month dog to a ER Vet on Saturday night cause his neck was stiff and he was in pain. Without even looking at my dog the Vet on call told me he had Meningitis and I would have to have a spinal tap at $3000. I told her I couldn't afford that so she told me I would have to keep him there until Monday at round $1100. Again I told her no and told her I wanted to take him home for rest and bring him to my vet Monday, she was upset but I took him home...anyway, before leaving I asked if I could have some meds to give him to help him fight the "Meningitis" she prescribed me 3 types. So, Monday morning I take him in and my Vet informs me that all 3 meds where wrong, and one isn't even for puppies and could (or did) cause some damage. So, my dog only has a stain neck, and is fine which is funny cause the ER Vet told me it is impossible for puppies to get stained muscles. Should I try to get some $ back from the ER Vet, the bill was $400 and everything was wrong?

I am opening a newfoundland kennel. Today I got a 3 1/2 year old female. She had a litter of 8 two months ago. She is extremely boney and her hair is kind of brittle. I want her to put on weight and look healthy again instead of anorexic. I'm new to this and I want to do it right.

My little yorkie has a high pitched bark the least little noise sets her away. I can go out into the kitchen she hears me doing something then runs in and starts barking. I don't understand why dog food, dog toys, treats, shampoo, etc is sooooo EXPENSIVE!....I mean, why is it that a simple dog toy costs a minimum of $4 most of the time, and pet stores such as pet co and petsmart ALWAYS sell everything at a very expensive price...it costs more to raise a dog than to raise a child..i'm serious......atleast some people can apply for gov. benefits 'n it makes it so easy to live out of some one else's money.....WHY don't dog owners (especially) receive this types of benefits as well?...that's why there's so many dogs at the pound because many people can't afford to raise them either...I just don't think that's fair at all!!!..........Vets and necessary supplies are very costly and pet owners always have to spend on everything without any support from no one.....and certain people with 2 kids or more get benefits from the gov. and all this places....well u people know what I mean.........................I JUST WANT TO LET OUT HOW I FEEL ABOUT ALL OF THESE!!!

My mom has a beagle that is 14 who isn't eating like normal. My mom can not afford to bring her to a vet is there anywhere i can turn to help her out? The dog isn't eating much if anything at all and it has been about 3 days or so. I mainly trying to get her to eat as a start to the solution. Any ideas?

I adopted my dog from a family back in 2005 paying $100 in cash for him. My psycho ex boyfriend is threatening to take me to court for custody of him. Now here's the thing. I accidentally left his papers at his condo when I left and he paid an emergency vet bill once. That all happened a year ago and since then I have taken him to the vet and gotten his Rabies, Bordetella, DHLP shots, along with grooming, etc....
I do not want him to see, or have visitations but he's threatening to hire a lawyer and take it to court. This is just really sad and it breaks my heart because he's such a momma's boy and deserves to be with me.
Any help would greatly be appreciated

I have a lab/dalmation mix. He is going to be 15 in April. He had a stroke about a year ago. He is losing weight and can't stop eating. He needs to go out at least once an hour. Sometimes when we let him in he needs to go back out right after letting him in. Now he has started going the bathroom in thee house and he doesn't even realize it. Is there something wrong? Should i take him to the vet?

We just moved into a new house and had people coming in and out and somehow the gate was left open and my chihuahua took off. He usually comes right back home and this time he didn't. I have posted flyers, posted his picture on myspace, offered rewards, called every shelter and city agency I could think of and I don't know what else to do. He has been missing since 3/1/07, from Mayde Creek Farms in Houston, TX.
