I am watching my friend's dog and noticed that her right side of her mouth is really swollen. She won't let me look at her mouth keeps licking. I took her to the vet and she wouldn't let him look either. So now the Vet is going to give her anesthesia and take a look. I think it might be an infected tooth, any ideas? I am really worried, especially because I am puppy sitting?

good job for taking the pup to the vet. dont worry about it. you could not foresee the issue that was already there. it was already there and the pup seeing her parents gone jst caused stress on the issue to appear.

good job again for not hesitating to taking the dog to the vet.

Could be the tooth. It might also be a bite of some sort. The vet will get it sorted out once he has the puppy under anesthesia.

Sounds like an infected or broken tooth or perhaps something that has gotten wedged between her teeth. The Vet has the right idea. Please be careful, sometimes when doggies are in pain- they will bite-it's just an instinct-don't blame the doggy. The Vet should put your mind at ease.

I agree, sounds like an infection in the tooth. Sounds pretty painful and vet care sounds like the right choice.
