I had a gorgeous German Shepperd puppy he was barely 5 months old he slowly started becomeing sick he wouldn't eat he would only drink then Friday March 16, 2007 I went outside to try to get him to eat & give him more water & he just layed there barely breathing I called my brother & his girlfriend & told them what was going on. I picked my dog up & said please walk & he just laid in my arms slowly dying. When my brother & his girlfriend he finally died right there in front of me just like my dad did. The reason we didn't put him to sleep is we thought he was just stressed & soon would start eating but then after he died we found out he had a disease when we got him. Now I cry all the time every little thing makes me think of him. I've cried my self to sleep for the last three nights. I will always love him & miss him. R.I.P. Cojoe & Dad.

First and foremost there is only one breed of dog that can be called a "Pit Bull" and that is "The American Pit Bull Terrier."

The APBT is the only breed with the words, "Pit Bull" in its name, therefore when someone refers to a "Pit Bull" using capital letters they are talking about a purebred American Pit Bull Terrier.

What happened is, the media and people who don't have a clue about what a real APBT looks like started attaching generic names to dogs that are similar in appearence.

The most common dogs referred to as "pitbulls" are:

The American Staffordshire Terrier (a close cousin to or some think the same breed as the APBT)

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier (also referred to as the English Staffordshire Bull Terrier)

The American Bulldog

The Dogo Argentino

The Bull Terrier

The Presa Canerio

The American Pit Bull Terrier

or any mix of the above breeds.

I adopted my dog from adopt-a-pet when she was 7 mos old. She is a chow/border collie mix and is now 2 yrs old. She has always been a bit shy around men and will bark at a male that she doesn't know when they first come to the apt. In the past, she has never bristled up or made any move that she will bite. In fact if a stange male made any move towards her (like holding his hand out to her for her to smell) she would stop barking and hide behind me. When we are outside the apt (like Petsmart) she is usually friendly with women and will shy away from men. Recently she has begun a new behavior on our walks that has me concerned. When we are walking around the apt complex she will greet women just fine, but if a male approaches...she at first might wag her tail, but then will bristle up and begin barking. This morning she actually tried to chase this guy. When we are indoors, my dog will listen to me and obey commands. As soon as we are outside though, she ignores me.

If you do, tell me.

I have a Doberman, Named hammer. he is my 11th dobie. I've been raised with dobermans, and they are the best breed ever! dont beleive me, then check out the stats..
I saved him from a shelter when he was 11 months old, he is pure bred, but his first owners couldnt keep him anymore because they already paid too much for him " a thousand dollars" and they didnt want to keep up with him, so they dropped him off at the shelter when he was 3 months old. he then was adopted agian at 9 months, but he got loose, but when the shelter picked him up, the second owners didnt want him, they said that he was too big and stalky, and they just didnt want him anymore, he was too affectionate. and they didnt have time for that. and when i came in to look for a dobe with my father, the shelter said he only had the weekend to live, it was friday! I adopted him immeadiataly. Now he is being police trained by me, bc all my dobes were. and now he is the best obediant dobie ever!

he is the best thing i have had in my life so far, and alot of people congradulate me on saving him, but i cant help to think inside that he has saved me in more ways then i can count!

And if you dont like them, tell me. I want to hear some humor =]

My doxie was at the vet this morning for a routine checkup and shots. He bit the doctor while he was trying to listen to his heart. The doc says that my doxie is a very agressive dog. He advised me that it was beyond being scared because he was a the vet. He said that I should consider having his large biting teeth removed to prevent injuy if he was to bite someone. He has never bitten anyone before. He has been blind since birth, and I think this really contributes to his agression towards people he does not know. Has anyone ever had this procedure done on their pet? Do you think this is a good idea?

My dogs face is swollen on his left side and there are a few lil cuts around that area, Im not sure if its just a bug bite and an allergic reaction. I have 3 pitbulls and they always rough house and fight with each other, So they cuts might all be from another dog or one of them might be a bug bite...

I DONT HAVE A CAR TILL MY SISTER GETS HOME... I GAVE HIM 3 IBPROFIN AND 2 ALLERGIC REACTION PILLS, IS THERE ANYMORE I CAN DO UNTILL MY SISTER GETS HOME AND WE TAKE HIM TO THE VET....

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!
